    Okay, here it goes...

Rupert Murdoch bought the broadcasting rights of the Eredivisie for 1 billion euro. The biggest deal for the Dutch league in history.
With the deal Fox Sports gets to air full matches of the Eredivisie from the season 2013-2014 and twelve years on from that. The first season Murdoch will pay 60 million, then 80 million and after the first two seasons it will top 100 million euro's.

The deal is the biggest in Dutch TV history and with it, Murdoch buys 51% of the current tv channel 'Eredivisie Live', which was founded by the football clubs three years ago after negotiations collapsed with public and commercial bradcasters. Dutch laws however demands that match summeries should be watchable on an open TV net, which means that public and commercial tv channels should be able to buy the rights from Murdoch.

Well this should give Dutch football some impuls budget wise...

That's a huge amount of money, I had to look twice when I read the amount involved, but a twelve year deal seems pretty staggering.
