Port vale are playing aldershot on Tuesday and then Rochdale on Saturday .

If they drop ANY points and we win we and we have won the league

    I think this is right

    Errr.....no

We're up. Nothing can prevent that (short of points deductions, but let's not go there).

We need another 5 points to finish as Champions. Only Port Vale can finish ahead of us now, and they can get a maximum of 86 points, and they have a better goal difference. If (when) we get to 87, that's it.

Those 5 points can also be points dropped by Port Vale - for every point they drop, we need one less.

    THAT is right

Vale lose or draw their game in hand on Tuesday a win at chethenham no matter vales results would see us champions.

Vale win Tuesday night then a win at Cheltenham and any result other than a win for vale we are champions

Vale win Tuesday Saturday it's the 5 points rule. Simples!

Worst case we finish second, no matter what!

    More realistically...

I don't think our game at Cheltenham will be so simple, so I expect a draw for us at best putting us on my season long magical 83 points.

Port Vale I expect to beat Aldershot. I know they are fighting for survival but they are where they are for a reason. Which will give Vale 77 points.

Then it will depend on Vale's result at Rochdale on Saturday, even if they lose they can still achieve 83 points.

Due to goal difference we will then need 84 points. Hence bring on AFC Wimbledon.

Now here is the problem, I am playing a massive gamble with this assumption, the question being should I being going to Cheltenham in case I am wrong?

Maybe I will wait to see what happens Tuesday. What a dilemma!

    As it stands -

Gillingham are on 82 with 3 to play
Vale are on 74 with 4 to play.

    Maximums are -

    Gillingham 91
    Vale 86

If Vale lose on Tuesday they then have a max of 83 so we only need a win on Saturday to go up. If they draw its a maximum of 84, again a win puts us up.

Same situation continues Saturday with Vale at Rochdale. They even draw one game from Tuesday or Sat and we win then the trophy is ours.
