Nathaniel-take 25s now before the he trots up tomorrow in the Chester Vase when he will be single figures.
Having studied the form and breeding, I wholeheartedly agree Henry. The closest anything got to Frankel and involved in a tight finish with Picture editor last year, won first time out this year over 12f on a sounder surface. Only 4 runners but coasted into the lead final furlong and eased last 100 yards ony 2.5 sec slower than average; promising as obviously not fully wound up.
Well I did say on 606 last year that Treasure Beach was the one to take out of the race against Frankel (beaten out of sight but desperately unlucky) but I didn't expect that today. Not totally surprised but disappointed with Nathaniel. It was a very slowly run race on a very sharp track so it could be a different story over a fast 12f with uphill finish. It will be interesting to hear the trainer's view. He's drifted in price so maybe he has hinted it won't go to Epsom. The race didn't really tell us much but Treasure BEach is not to be underestimated (watch the race against Frankel and watch Treasure Beach closely).
