according to the daily Star Liverpool have a agreed a price of 5.5 million with Newcastle for luis enrique.Good deal at that price if its true.
It's Jose Enrique, dont know where you got Luis from. I expect the deal will go through, but he played in our friendly yesterday so I dont think its sorted yet.
Exactly, the Daily Star can't even get his name right!! I heard he was excellent in your friendly yesterday... did you watch it?
I really hope it goes through soon; but it's not the end of the world if we don't as I think Aurelio will stay fit for a decent amount of games now we don't have Europe.
Yeah I was there, gave the ball away once or twice but reminded us why he's arguably the best attacking full back in the league. Made a brilliant lung busting run to stop a goal as well, he's much faster than people realise (Walcott and Lennon got nowt past him last season).
Yeah from what ive seen his bursts down the byline are second to none. Also very strong defensively. To be honest i really hope he signs for us soon. But, i do feel for you guys having 'Cashley' in charge, what a greedy fat bastard.
His runs are brilliant but he benefits a lot from his understanding with Gutierrez on the left (always tracking back and they always know where the other will be). He'll need a regular partner and time to connect with him on the pitch before you see the best of him, think Downing would be your best bet.
This speculation has been going on forever, we seem to do most of our business during the week so I wonder if there will be anything official before the season starts. Or it may go down to the last week. The one thing Johnson lacks sometimes is an understanding with the man in front of him, I think that was one of his biggest weakness defensively as it always left a deadly gap when he attacked.
Would be a good deal if the price was £5.5M. However, it's the Daily Star which is a **** newspaper. Will wait until it's on the Liverpool website.
Pardew: "I keep looking at him and smiling, hoping he is going to stay" Thought that was quite funny for some reason when I read it. Pardew still feels optimistic of keeping the lad but I feel that whoever is going to get him is waiting for the transfer window to get smaller.
Just to keep you updated as I'm sure it's all you're thinking about, we've been linked with a new LB, and are supposedly trying to get him in before the Arsenal game. Would be Enrique's replacement.
It's dragged on too long now and if we get this lad Pieters in I'll be happy to see the back of him. (Because he wants to leave, not because he's not brilliant.)
I would share the exact same view. If any player at Liverpool no longer wants to play here the quicker they go the better. The last thing i would want is an unhappy player in the dressing room. Fortunately for Liverpool, we look like we are going to hugely benefit from it.
