I'm sorry and I know I'm in for dogs abuse but Sess' flatters to deceive and offers nothing to our team. Yes he can dribble and run with the ball but he has no vision is unable to pass and often our play breaks down when he has the ball. The sooner we sell him and invest the funds else where the better. He cannot play in the hole, he is not a team player and I'd rather we tried something else. He has been pretty awful all season. Should be dropped and someone else given a chance. I'm losing faith in Adam Johnson too! I wish we had some kids to throw in. I'm also sick of our team sitting so deep. We seem to be set up to draw. Pretty pisses off with them to ought, Marty, the team the lot. We should easily have won that game. Once again how many shotson target did we have? Total lack if ambition is killing me! Once again I'm pissed but I'm also pissed off. This team is so fragile we could yet go down. How we go from the first half against Wigan to the last two performances defies belief.
The problem with Sess is he is playing in a negative team put him in a team who set up to be positive and he would be a huge danger, imagine him behind Michu at Swansea he would be lethal! I feel sorry for Sess and Fletcher, Fletch gets totally isolated from the midfield, its baffling how deep our defence and midfield are then the huge gap between Sess. The problem is not Sess or AJ the problem is the tactics Win, Lose or Draw we must be the worst team to watch in Europe and these tactics are absolutely ****e, fans hate other fans of there club calling the manager but IMO I really don't know how far MoN can take us, he seems to only have one way of playing, firstly we are not good enough to be able to do that and secondly its negative as ****
Not sure I agree with this Poolie, I'm sure Mon doesn't tell them to go out and sit deep, run around like headless chickens for a bit and hoof the ball to Fletch. The truth is we have too many average players in our first eleven that the decent players like Mig, O'Shea, N'Diaye and Sess have to carry them. Vaughan scrambles around the pitch like a headless chicken, passing sideways whenever he has the ball has no pace and runs out of puff after 60 mins. Colback has turned into one of the most negative players I've ever seen, the lad won't pass forwards and most times doesn't even look just passes back to defence. Larsson can't play cm, he has no pace and is not good enough on the ball he just about survives on the wing because of his delivery, but again is bang average for me. Titus was ok today but gives away silly fouls. McClean is a one trick pony in that he gets it on his left and crosses which never beats the first man. Gardner is no right back, players get in behind him way too easily, it happened at Wigan or their first and again today, can't blame the lad as he's probably a better option than Bardsley. We will never be a consistent team while we have these guys in our starting eleven and that's the harsh truth, they just aren't good enough. I feel Mon knows this and that is why window by window he is slowly shipping out the dross and replacing them with more quality.
I have to agree there, if you rate any of our CB's its surely obvious for us to improve we need CB's that have a bit of pace to allow us to play higher up and some creativity next to Alfie in the midfield. If we do this we will of obviously improved the team but it will allow us to play higher up the pitch that would hopefully allow us to get the creative players on the ball in more advanced positions, we never get the opposition defenders on the back foot.
It's going to cost a few quid to sign a team capable of accomodating sessegnon. I think we may go over budget for the financial fair play rules, by about 70-80 million.
we just need to look at Swansea and Newcastle Chico Flores - 2m De Guzman - on loan with view to a 2m deal Michu - 2m Sissoko - less than 3m Cabaye - around 5m Ben Arfa - 3m or so Debuchy - 7m Cisse - 8m there is bargains out there to be had, but they have also decided how they are going to play, have we? Surely MoN is not going to play this way regardless of new signings, if so then its going to be a frustrating time being a Sunderland fan
So the next question is, if there are bargains to be had which there are, who the hell are our scouts and how long have they been at our club? Even more importantly, what the feck are they doing?
I have to say mate talking about scouts Graham Carr is totally overrated the likes of Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Sissoko, Cisse, Goufran, Yanga-Mbiwa and Debuchy were all well known players in there leagues before they signed for Newcastle, it isn't like they have brought a 17 year old over and turned him into a first team regular or signed some bloke from outer *****lia that no one has heard of and he has turned into a quality player, all these players were known of and there is more out there. We are certainly doing something wrong why are we not in for them. MoN as well spoke about the game against Swansea away was the first time MoN took any notice of Michu, why? the amount of goals he scored in a poor la liga side and available at a cut price deal, why didn't he know more. he is a great man manager but the likes of him are going to be replaced by the likes of AVB, Laudrupp and Martinez who are more clued up on tactics and world football, Martinez even spoke about south american football when he was on goals on sunday a few weeks ago. These are the managers who will go on and be good managers we should be out there watching... Naughton - Spurs Aurier - Toulouse Kouyate - Anderlecht Diekmeir - Hamburg Beck - Hoffenheim Fer - FC Twente Odjidja - Club Brugge Martin - Lille Bony - Vitesse M'Bokani - Anderlecht Aubemeyang - St Etienne Benteke - Villa
Sess is an excellent footballer and it would be utter madness to get rid of him..As has been already said, our problems lie by playing too deep, and it is this that needs to be sorted out..
Give Sess a free role behind two strikers in a positive minded team and he would be superb. Unfortunately I don't think that team is us because of the way MON sets teams up.
Why does there have to he a scapegoat after every defeat? Yesterday was not 1 players fault sorry. When offensive every player is isolated leaving them the option of a pass back or try take on 3 players. Even the ****est of teams can keep passing with every player having 3 options on, we just never do this and I don't know why?
Not often I agree with micko on here but, I do on this not one player played well they were all poor and against a confident Reading side were found out to be very average indeed.
