got back late last night and on the drive home i realised that keeping a clean sheet was probably the most important thing. Really impressed with the enthusiasm and in all honesty we most likely deserved the 3 points. i had a feeling that mbia would play in midfield under harry as he is a better holding player than the others. along with diakite we looked hard to break down and harry had the sense to bring samba off before he got another yellow. im a massive taarabt fan but last night wasn't his night but he still worked hard fir the team. mackies off the ball work is infectious and a real example of what is needed to get out of this mess. my only gripe about last night was the fact we were unable to hold the ball up front like zamora is capable of doing which enables the support to get in place but in general i was impressed. the organisation was there to be seen and although sunderland in my opinion had a very poor night, i believe it was us that caused them to be quite quiet, so much so that i didn't even realise Adam Johnson was playing until after 30 minutes or so. all in all, a good point and a brilliant clean sheet! man of the match for me between mbia and mackie.
just to add one more thing, i thought cisse put a good shift in last night, not often caught on camera but he worked harder than i have seen him recently. he needs a goal and i believe they will come.
Just finishing watching it, I thought we looked organised and broke with purpose. Sadly lacking up until last night. We're gelling I tell you! The only downer for me was that tw@t Garry Birtles as co commentator on Foxtel. Miserable, oxygen wasting fuqwit.
First away clean sheet since Wolves last September i think it was. For that alone its good progress in the right direction.
Players looked more up for it, tactics and formation the same as Hughes though i prefer Harry's man management.
