Who do you think is/was Englands best goal score.

    Chalton, Owen, Rooney, Heskey

    Who would you have?

I would go with Alan Shearer then Bobby Chalton

Jeffers 1 in 1 - and he only played 45 minutes in a 1-3 defeat against Australia.

You said 'goalscorer'. Gary was good at that. Did it at two World Cups top

As a pure goalscorer, I've seen none better than Greaves.

Matt Holland or Gary Breen. Both born in England and both have scored as many World Cup finals goals as Rooney.
Peter Crouch? 22 goals in 19 starts.

How are people supposed to compare the different eras? Makes it very difficult.
Stan Mortensen got 23 in 25 and missed a big chunk of possible games because of WWII. The poor ****er even had to play for Arsenal because of it.
I doubt anyone's seen enough of him to make a sensible judgement of his ability, let alone compare it to the modern players.

I'm going to go for Vivian Woodward, who scored 29 goals in 23 games, played for Spurs, captained Great Britain to two Olympic victories and then fought The Hun.
He then signed for Chelsea, got injured by the Germans and never played internationals again.
There's a moral in there, somewhere.

    Just for clarity

    Messi- 104 games 49 goals
    Ronaldo-122 games 55 goals
    Rooney - 107 games 50 goals

Best two players in world are on par with Roo

    Haters going to hate <ok>

  12. Which pairing do you think most fans in the world would like to have in their team?

    Rooney + Messi

    Ronaldo + Rooney

    Messi + Ronaldo

If they were interchangeable, this would be a pointless question, but we all know that they aren't, and we all know which pairing most fans, across the entire planet, would like most in their team.

  14. Never gonna happen, Custard.

For England, yes; but for United, no, I'm afraid not.

Messi flies thousands of miles to play very tough World Cup qualifiers; their games are a lot tougher than ours.
Argentina have to play Brazil chile etc twice every campaign

  18. Please tell our scummy tabloid press that, because they are going to be linking Kane to United for the next decade, in the hope that by wishing it to be true they can make it happen!

I'll give you Brazil, but the rest are average to poor.
They only have to finish in the top 5 of 10 too, so there's very little pressure.

So you think Chile and Colombia were average to poor in 2014, Argentina had to play those very good sides in qualification. Uruguay too. Ecuador were decent too.

No San Marinos or Luxembourgs in Conmebol
