Ridiculous. The FIFA rankings are the worst system ever. It should be based on form and which countries have recently won cups.
Apparently we only lost 3 out of the last 12 matches and one of them was on penalties. Only Spain and germany have a better record, or so I've heard. The Fa posted something about it on facebook earlier.

It is a paradox that when it comes to our national football team, we can't wait, and justifably so, to give them a right good slagging and yet if someone says Grant Holt Holt is the 3rd best striker in Britain we all agree.
This wouldn't happen in rugby or cricket would it. The national side is the zenith of achievement in those sports (South African born cricketers married to ex pop singers aside), yet in football, the national team is the subject of jokes and abuse.

To be honest, I couldn't give a f**k. I'm as patriotic as the next man but when I read that Frank Lampard will possibly picked for the next game, I lost all enthusiasm!!
