The England Manager Fabio Capello is blaming Fifa for the timing of the friendly between England and Holland at Wembley on Wednesday. England manager Fabio Capello has questioned the timing of England's friendly against Holland at Wembley on August 10. England face the 2010 World Cup runners-up three days before the start of the Premier League season and Capello admits it is not an ideal time. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14363866.stm
3 days before is a bit of a nightmare. Otherwise it would be an extra bit of match practice for our internationals, but I'm more concerned about injuries etc more than anything.
Well, only Andy Carroll and Glen Johnson will be off? The rest might go but won't feature I suspect If this is true that Capello didn't choose the date he might change the entire team at half time
The bad news is FIFA want to extend the number of friendlies from 12 to 17. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jun/14/fifa-international-friendlies-europe-clubs
