Anyone else watching this? Looks like England set a solid platform so far, but then I wouldn't put it past them to collapse still. Just need to keep this up until the World Cup!

I reckon this is at least a 330 pitch. They need to up the run rate. Stand a chance if these two stay in for a while tho.

Trott is going well. Shame Prior seems to be a hit and miss, dunno why he's opening. Bring in Cook I say!

yeah. Or even just move Bell up to opener. Let Prior do what he does best and bat at 7

I think ever since their world T20 win England have felt they need specialist limited overs openers who scores at a very fast rate and seem to have forgotten that it's important to build a platform. And when Trott scores at this rate, who needs to hit lots of sixes? If you let Bell open, I dare say he would go after the big hits too much.

I guess teams like India and Sri Lanka have players who can hit sixes without getting out, but England don't have that quality right now. Collingwood, KP and Morgan aren't doing too well right now, but imagine how good England will be when they start flowing.

Its gonna be very different over in India too. Not sure how we'll get on, but I'm hoping better than in this series. Like you say tho, if a few of the out of form ones can get in they'll do well.

Don't know about 330, but England should get at least 310... the way our bowlers have been, even with so many injuries I'd hope that would be enough. Problem is our fast bowlers won't be so useful in Asia. Hope Trott's injury isn't serious.

I think this game is showing that some of the lack of form is just too much cricket. I think they were mentally tired. Now the pressure is off with the series lost they are just getting on with it.

Haha, well that won't easy off any time soon. One more game here, then it's almost straight off to the World Cup. I should say this is Trott's new high score. But too be fair, at least our bowlers are fresh, because there's been so many injuries most of them have only played a few matches this series.

Not sure how Trott is still in, maybe he should retire if he's hurting too much...

Well, that's Bell gone, ironically England don't really have any sloggers for these last 4 overs. Bring back Luke Wright I say!

they've got enough in hand even the non sloggers can afford to slog and give a few wickets away

Morgan doesn't look like he's hitting them as well as he normally does. Maybe 330 or more is possible after all but Australia have a very strong batting line up, other than Shaun Tait but like England seem to be struggling to play to their potential. This total should be enough...

I think its going to be really close, unless they lose a few early wickets and have to slow down.

I'm not disappointed by that result - I'm sure without a second string attack we would of won this game. Nice to see the batsmen do some clean hitting for once!
