Thought we should again have a specific thread for the England game. I expect it to be tight with Zlatan Ibrahimović a massive threat for the Swedes. Who would you start with? Should Oxo get another go? I don't think we can expext to get a win against Ukraine so need to get 3 points tomorrow if we want to qualify.

    Afternoon Mr Lamb!

I finally had my first winning bets on the Euro's yesterday I had Portugal to win 3-2 at 33/1 and a Portugal/Germany double at 5/1!
Anyway back to topic and I would play exactly the same team as we did against France.

I thought we held them comfortably and if we have any aspirations of going further in this competition we really should be beating Sweden.

Hi SFA. Been doing OK so far and stranfgely had the same double up as you yesterday. Going for an Italy win later. On England I think he might not be quite a attack minded against Sweden but we will see.

After watching them play Ukraine, I don't think we're going to have a problem here. Ibrahimovic is a lousy player, I don't care what anyone says, and that is summed up by the fact that Sweden have a better record when he doesn't play. They play an open game which will suit us very nicely as our defense is good and theirs isn't. 3-0.

Hi Joe. Hope this prediction is spot on but I think Sweden will cause us real problems. Ibrhimovic is I accept inconsistent but on his day is a real handful.

He is highly inconsistent, but he is also enormously talented and looked on top of his game against the Ukraine. Hopefully he's due an off-game now. Without him I think the Sweden team looks very weak.

Also worth nothing that England have a better record without Rooney, so maybe we should have left him at home!

Are you sure? I could have sworn it was like 10% better with Rooney in the team. Ibrahimovic may be very talented, but it's the fact that he's both lazy and a selfish arsehole which makes him crap in my eyes. I don't see him causing us problems.

Ibrahimovic was brilliant against Ukraine. He's easily the biggest threat to England on Friday, not that I'll be watching. I realised the other day that I had a prior engagement that night, and I've opted not to cancel. That's how mouthwatering I find the prospect of England vs Sweden.

For some reason I really fancy Croatia this afternoon and will be having a little dabble on a 3-1 score! Might do a 2-2 draw as well to cover it.

Really can't see Italy getting beat tonight, myself. I've backed them e/w at 12/1 for the tournament, and will probably back them to beat Croatia. I think Ireland made an ordinary team look good the other night.

If you really think that how many do you think Spain will win by tonight then? 7? 8?

Stats provided above. Rooney is selfish. He doesn't follow orders, isn't disciplined and makes the team less organized. England are better without Rooney unless Hodgson can drum into him team ethic and get him to play a disciplined role where he is more interested in the team succeeding than personal glory. But it's unlikely. These type of players will always be selfish.

Yeah, re: Rooney, I just think England have never known how best to use him. I think the best place for him is right up front and told to stay there, that way he can't wander around and he's unquestionably one of the best finishers we have. I'd play him up top with Young behind, in exactly the role that Welbeck has played in so far. Frankly, if he can't stick to that role then he should be dropped!

I'm sorry but Rooney is the least selfish player. He may get himself into trouble from time to time, and he may drift from his position too much, but this is because he's perhaps trying too hard to help the team. I've heard him called a lot of things, but never selfish. Can't quite believe that honestly.

I don't watch enough Swedish international football to comment on him at an international level, but to call Zlatan anything but magnificent based on club performances would be an outrage. Certainly not inconsistent, either.

I agree with the above too.

I'd like to see a break down of the fixtures in the 9 wins from 12 stats. The only thing I can edge towards your view on is that Rooney does get frustrated and then sometimes gets abit headless chicken. Overall he is our best player and should be in the team when available.
