Many questions to be asked from tonight's game.... Will Trev have a quick sneak or continue with his knitting? Has Nev finished his Lollipop Man duties for the day? Will Obi wash his eyes out with vinegar rather than watch England? As for me, I'll be watching, but listening to JAMC. 2 - 0 Win and a further step towards qualification. If you're not interested, read the following carefully WHO GIVES A ****
A good rendition of the National Anthem to get matters going....although it would be better, if the long version was played.
30 mins gone, cracking end to end game.... How did the Scousers get the Ox for a paltry £35m. Got to be worth £50m min judging by first half display. One rasping shot. narrowly over the bar, and sublime crosses.
I fell out of love with England years ago. Probs about the time the England manager said he couldn't be arsed coming up to the NE to watch any players. Having said that i've just discovered a telly in the bathroom whilst I have a dump. please log in to view this image
To be fair, any England Manager coming to the NE wouldn't be doing it too watch football. TV in the bathroom 1 - 1 HT, took a while for England to get going.
I admire your patriotism heed, you've pretty much had a conversation with yourself for the majority of this thread ROLL ON SUNDAY!
Love watching England play live in tournaments but must admit the standard of the qualifying games has got poor. Would be better if they could do a pre-qual for lower ranked teams, then have stronger groups with fewer qualifiers. Limit euros to 16 teams and world cup to 24. Reduce the number of meaningless games. The way these competitions are expanding it may end up with ridiculous teams in it ... like Scotland.
If England didn't play so many qualifiers then they would probably be playing even more meaningless friendly games?
Hadn't though that through - too early in the morning here. However just checking the European Groups reckon you could have 8 groups of 4 with 11 places available of which 24 are seeded teams and other 8 places are played for in a pre-qual by remaining 30 teams. Then reduce Africa to 4 teams, Asia to 3, Concacaf to 2 and S America to 4 giving a 24 team World Cup Final. Guarantees six good standard qualifying games - that's better than the 2-3 England have played in this latest round. Also frees up bigger teams to play more friendlies so can ensure that these are better quality too.
Would that mean we still had international breaks to ensure England had a better chance of gelling and playing better? #justoldfashionedsarcasm
