I think tonight is. A 50-50. Both teams are about as good as each other, the winner faces the Germans. So who would you start and what do you think the score will be. Im going 1-0 England with Gerrard scoring and my team would be Hart Johnson Terry Lescott Cole Chamberlain Parker Gerrard Young Rooney Carroll I think Carroll will cause the italians alot of problems with his height and i think Welbeck would make a good impact sub. I put Chamberlain ahead of Walcott because i think Theo is better off the bench Come on England
As much as I'd live England to win I have a funny feeling it'll be one all with us scoring first and Italy equalising with that man Barotteli! Pens for me and I have no idea who'll choke first, I really can't call it!
Oh and I've heard it's the same team starting so Milner is playing, may as well start with 10 players then! I shall be watching the ref as well after FIFA mans little mardy, I shall not say his name!
I struggle to see England winning this and see it more as Italy being slight favourites rather than a 50/50. I think we should line-up like: --------------------Hart------------------- Johnson------Terry-------Lescott------Cole Milner-----Gerrard-----Parker-----Chamberlain ---------------Rooney--Welbeck------------- I think Young has been **** and a waste of space, why continue to play him? Although Milner hasn't been great (to put it incredibly lightly) I don't fully trust Johnson as a full back and he needs someone that is able to help him out defensively. I still do not think that Carroll and Rooney will play well together so its one or the other for me and Rooney is a much better player and knows welbeck so I picked him. Chamberlain is sort of a wildcard in this tournament as no one really knows much about him and we should play to that strength. 2-1 to England (this is heart over head) with Gerrard getting an early goal and England being pegged back for a large part of the game and Pirlo getting a deserved equaliser for Italy just after Half-Time and as the game opens up a little more, chances come more and more for both teams but neither are really prepared to commit into attacking too much until the Italians think they have England and England hit off the break and Rooney scores in the 88th minute to win the game. Ya never know
--------------------Hart------------------- Johnson------Terry-------Lescott------Cole Milner-----Gerrard-----Parker-----Young ---------------Rooney ---------------Welbeck Welbeck has been good so far, milner will do a shift against the wingbacks and im giving young another chance. Dont be afraid to bring on the Ox at ~50 minutes if it is not working and carroll if we fall behind.
Rooney needs to get his finger out, but I think we can and will beat italy.not too impressed with them against irland, carroll could upset them, and one of their central defenders is injured..but germany is another thing..
Have to agree with you here Josh. That's the team I wanted to see against Ukraine (although I do think Young was slightly better in that match). Agree about Johnson too, and the obviously logic of playing Welbeck and Rooney together. Sadly, I don't share your optimism, and I think it'll be a 0-0 bore, with penalties a good bet. I was thinking we may go out on penos, but another semi-final defeat by Germany seems inevitable, so perhaps we will sneak through...
I'm guessing the whole of Europe want Italy to win, but who cares about them tossers! tis looking like extra time for me though already.
Decent game Italy samashed a 30 yard volley against the post, Johnson and Balotelli both has missed sitters Welbeck, Parker and Johnson impressing for us
Get Carroll and Walcott on. Young has been crap and Rooney aswell Welbeck has won every header going so Carroll would get some joy against these.
Ashley Young wants shooting He's been ****e all tournament, what was he doing? Ah well, Italians deserved to go through. That Diamanti is a **** too!
The future is bright with Roy With players like Welbeck, Carroll, Wilshere, Walker, Hart, Walcott, Chamberlain, Cahill Roy can really build us a team. Even if they was "other" reasons he showed bottle by dropping Rio Ferdinand and wont put up with players with the wrong type of attitude like Micah Richards. I think this could be the start of something. We should drop Rooney completely for about 5 games and then bring him back in to show him his reputation wont let him cruise through like he has done for years
sorry proud..having 5 or 6 goodish players won't win you anything...germany's B team is better than any team we can put out...
