This is the next match that should have been. What should have been the line-up? How should they have lined up? How should they have played? What should have happened? What should have been the final result?

So with your ideas on anything at all .... what should have been, please!!

We would have done better had we put out the following lineup: Forster, Clyne, Chambers, Bertrand, Shaw, Reed, JWP, Redmond, Lallana, Jrod, Austin*
Of course, in the interests of English football they would all still be at Saints too.
    * Sorry if I've missed any obvious ex-Saints-England players, but there are too many to keep count of :headbang:

Joe Hart should have saved that.
    Sturridge should have passed that.
    Walker should have stopped that.
    And so on........................

Actually pleased we're not playing France because they would have humiliated us in much the same way as Iceland did.

I think we should start Drinkwater and LeTissier. A good blend of skill and hard work.

    I'm still not over it
    What an absolute joke.
We all knew when Hodgson was appointed that he was a dinosaur. We've basically wasted 8 more years and mentally scarred another generation of young English players.

It should have been Leicester City, with positions normally filled by foreigners going to the current form player. Rose for Fuchs, Lallana for Mahrez, maybe. I don't know, not worth thinking about any more. Football is bullshit.

I think the whole team should have arrived at the stadium all in the same tiny car and lined up wearing England's change strip including red noses, brightly coloured wigs and massive shoes. God save the Queen should have been replaced by Sousa's The Liberty Bell.
We should then have used balloon modelling and custard pies as diversionary tactics while somebody smuggles the ball into the French goal by hiding it in a bucket of fake water.
We should have won 1 - 0 but been disqualified for using performance enhancing mimes.

Me too. I get my certificate out sometimes, look at it, and return it to The Box of things I've Never Used.

I used mine, because I worked in medical research so it was actually relevant. Just came across my programme for the Graduation Ceremony and photo in my robes. All important at the time, but sadly will just end up in the bin eventually. So passes life.
