England will not be seeded for the World Cup draw in December despite moving up seven places to No 10 in the world rankings. FIFA is using the rankings released on Thursday to determine the seeds for the tournament, with hosts Brazil and the top qualified teams sure to be kept apart in the group stage. Roy Hodgson's side will therefore be in pot two and will be drawn into a group which includes one of Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Switzerland and either Uruguay or the Netherlands when the draw is made on 6 December. http://news.sky.com/story/1155885/england-unseeded-in-brazil

On a slightly unrelated note, we have friendlies against Chile and Germany next month. We also have a friendly against Uruguay next March. At least it is giving us a chance to look at England against decent opposition who will be in Rio.
Hopefully Colombia, Switzerland or Uruguay. If it has to be one if the class teams I hope it's Germany or Argentina, unfinished business there, with France joining from the 3rd pot. That would be a fun group.
Well, we were second seeds in 2002 and drew Argentina, and we all know what happened then... To be fair, they didn't have a player of Lionel Messi's calibre back then. Though they did have an awesome striker in Batistuta.
