WTF? The Serbian Authorities have stated that they are charging some of the England players - unnamed as yet - with criminal charges, and they want to extradite the players so they can face trial. No it isn't Strach. Extraditing players is the only way the Serbs could bring the cases. That said, the chances of this happening are minimal, although not totally impossible. Seems its more a case of the Serbs trying to muddy the waters for the actions of their fans and some of their players.
??? Extradition is required because Serbia is not part of the EU. It's why the FA are in discussion with the government
Cheers fellas. Were they to be extradited, I can see all hell breaking out as fans complain to their various MPs. Its one thing to arrest & extradite fans for fighting, causing trouble etc. Its another thing entirely to extradite players who have had to put up with what some of our players clearly did. Serbia, like much of new Europe, is monocultural & having to come to terms with sports people of colour. We went through this 20 odd years ago, & some would say we're still moving on, rather than having actually arrived & sorted out this problem. But we are light years ahead of places like Serbia in this. Expect this story to run & run for a while.
