    Du du du, Sammy Ameobi.

I missed the game, did he play well? I thought he started on the bench?

Didn't see it, just read the news. Seems to have come off the bench after 11 mins.

    Rated 7/10 Apparently

Edit: a report. Love that he seems to have come on for a striker?!

It doesn't matter does it? They are allowed players over 21 in the Under 21s aren't they?

I don't think I'm thinking of the Olympics as I am sure some of even our own players have played for the U21s whilst 22 or something...

With the Under 21s you're allowed to play when over 21 provided you were 21 or under when the competition begins. Not sure where that leaves Carroll though, someone who can be bothered to check could clear this up for everyone.

Pffftt... Let's just lobby to Fifa and tell them that rule is inconvenient to this thread... Under 21s is for Players Under 21 years old... That'd be so much easier

The rule can be ridiculous at times, I'm sure Milner played until he was almost 23.

Not elligible, but he's not in the main England squad so Sammy Ameobi has played more minutes for an England team than Carroll will over the next week. Is this still funny? I don't know anymore but Carroll's gone to ****, must be something in the water in Liverpool, first Torres, now Carroll, not to mention all their other players.

All the early signs were that Delfouneso was in for a prosperous evening on the left, but an injury just 11 minutes in saw him forced off, and replaced by Newcastle United's Sammy Ameobi.

Ameobi wasted little time in making an impression. The leggy winger beat his man on 13 minutes and sent over a deflected cross that caught Jordan Henderson by surprise. Had he seen it coming, the Liverpool player would have scored.

Catching Henderson by surprise doesn't appear to be difficult, last year he wet himself when a child played peek-a-boo with him*.

    *may not be strictly true.
