Agree with RB and Defoe, he should have taken Richards instead of Downing and Sturridge instead of Defoe. Think Carroll will do a job as the big striker, like Capello tried to use Heskey for - Although it's arguable that crouch or Holt could do better.

He should have dropped Terry, Jones, Downing and Defoe and taken Jagielka, Richards, Johnson and Sturridge. The latter four are potentially going to be regulars for the next 5-8 years, the former aren't (Jones is ****, that's why).

How the hell has half your squad managed to get into the national team? Utterly unbelievable.

Now now guys. It took a lot of effort for Roy not to pick Konchesky.

Do you honestly have confidence in England doing well when the exact same players could only finish 8th in their own league?

For the first two games, we'll either have Carroll, Defoe or Welbeck leading the line. Hardly strikes fear in other international teams, especially with assist-master Stewart Downing pulling the strings.

An even worse decision is taking Glen Johnson instead of LEAGUE-WINNING Micah Richards. Fine, have Johnson as back-up but to not take the best right back this season, atall is ridiculous.

And how is Henderson back-up instead of Carrick, Huddlestone or Lennon. All 3 players have had far better seasons. I'm truly baffled.

Why are you bothering asking us and assuming we're delighted those players were picked? I'll give Roy a call later tonight and let him know he should have also picked Carra, Spearing, Shelvey and Skrtel <doh>

    Typical forum wum, typically clueless.

Well, you'd better ask Roy, you know, the manager everyone was telling us is actually superb at his job and that we were SO disrespectful not to want him anywhere near Anfield.

Just because I've dared to question your brilliant Liverpool players, doesn't make me a WUM. I haven't even wound anyone up. Actually, writing that post wound me up because I thought Roy was going to be a bit different and I've realised we're probably not gonna get out of the group stages. It appears he is just another FA puppet.

Once again, why the word "brilliant"? No one here defends Downing, he's been ****e....You're preaching to the choir and it's pointless. you're looking for a reaction but there's none to be had. Hence the words I chose of clueless and wum. :)

And we can all agree he's another FA muppet. But we were saying that from day one, unlike most other fans who were all for giving him a chance...

Would that be the same Roy we were slated bigtime for because we didn't want him as manager of LFC?

The irony of all the smartasses now questioning his managerial prowess today is ****ing hilarious.
