Would be pleased for Carroll if he got picked. Not only does he thrive on confidence, but also it means he won't be eligible for the Olympics so he'll get a rest before the start of the season.
Its up I edited the top post. Its a good squad. A good balance of youth and experience, pace and composure, muscle and some flare. I am disappointed for Richards though. Interesting fact: Ferdinand has never played at a Euro's contest, being left out in 2000, banned in 2004 and failing to qualify in 2008.
I suppose it's the best he can do, I don't think Downing should be there but who else is there? Downing recently has played well for England. I think the German squad has been building up to this, as long as Gomez stays fit then I think they'll win it. Also pick your worst starting 11 for England from the Squad and be very afraid.
How Downing gets into the squad is beyond me. Carroll has been decent the last month but Grant Holt has been very good all season and if you want a big man Holt is the man who has being playing well all season 15 with goals in the prem league. Terry, Lampard, and Barry are all finished at international level imo its time to move on from players who have proved time after time that they cant cut it at international level.
Putting the Liverpool allegience to the side, that England squad is not the greatest eh? Some of the picks will already have the media, the internet forums, the buzz, etc on what the **** was Roy thinking on this, that, and the other.
I don't think there is too much else he could have done? I personally would have had Johnson instead of Downing but the rest looks fine to me.
