England player to come out this weekend

I have heard several rumours from different people that one of the players who was in the squad against Denmark this week will come out about his sexuality in a Sunday rag

Anybody heard about this, I don't really care but will be interesting to see who it is at a guess it could be Ashley cole.

I recon if one comes out there will be a a snowball effect.

 

Not the least bit interested in players off the field activities, only what they do on the field.

Yep, couldn't give a sh!t. Just adds unnecessary weight to the argument these idiots are somehow "celebrity" and worthy of personal news-coverage. What they actually are is (usually) dim but talented athletes who play sport for a living. Contrary to what Sky would have us all believe, this is all they are. It begins with kicking a ball, ends with kicking a ball and there's some ball kicking in-between. Anything else, interviews, comments, tw@tter, magazines, speculation, failbook is all just endemic of a failing society.

 

I believe this rumour was started by some freelance journo. Probably a hoax to get some twitter page some hits.

Someone comes out. It turns out that not all that many people are interested and those who are are generally supportive. A dozen others come out. The category of those who don't care increases steadily. Pretty soon players top "coming out" and just let it be known that they are gay. Progress.
