Am I the only one who is not as gutted as I would usually be because of Wembley, Bobby's goal and
the premier league to look forward to.

    Oh Bobby Zamora.

I'm more reflective than normal, still gutted but can't complain to the football gods after OBZ. My two year old daughter woke me up with a Father's Day card today, the loss to Italy isn't that important in the grand scheme really.

Not gutted, that was a classy display by Italy.

Excited by the young attacking players, for periods we really had a go at them.

Usually we are grimly hanging in there.

Losing to Italy in a competitive match was no great surprise, but the England performance in the last 20 minutes or so, especially crosses and corners from the right, was pretty woeful.

Not gutten because the high expectations we as England fans go into tournaments has been lowered so low that all we are looking for is a good performance. last night's game was better that anything we saw in South Africa so things are alreay on the up. carry on with 2 good games next week and we should get through to the next round . that's all I'm after.

Im honestly struggling to care TBH.

Not followed the national team much in recnt years because of the clowns we have had playing.
i do like the look of the new younger team & the fact they are from diffrent clubs and the actually appear to genuinely care.

all we need is a bit more nause and experience and we may have a team t be truely proud of. I enjoyed the game but the diffrence in class between us and Italy was obvious.
    A 35 year old man running the game?...Really ?

Pirlo was a joy to watch so composed on the ball and had a cigar on all game brilliant player.

No you are not. For me, the Bobby Zamora moment has nothing to do with it. In truth we all had limited expectations and would have been grateful to get out of this group. This is a young team that will get better with time and we all knew that Rio was 2 years too soon for this squad. Just because Shearer believes we can do something in this tournament is no reason to get swept along and ignore the obvious. Speaking of Shearer, I hope we all noticed his, for want of a better word, "Shearerism" in coming over all holier than thou over the Brazil penalty. "Yes there was a definite touch but no way was that a penalty". I seem to recall him frequently saying that a forward who feels a touch on his ever so delicate body is entitled to go down.

Disappointed with the result of course Campile, but you’re right, not as much as I would have been had it not been for what happened on May 24th, and also not as much as I would have been had it been a knockout game.

I actually thought that we played pretty well though really, we were just missing a little something upfront… I don’t know, a big centre forward perhaps. Someone who could bully their defenders and break their back line.. Someone who’s good with their back to goal… who’s ready to pounce on any loose ball in the box, someone who’s not going to waste the one chance to win the game..

Hmmm, can you think of anyone who might fit the bill??

OBZ's chance at wembley was harder than rooney's missed effort

Rooney was the weak link for us. he was told to play on the left, and had barely two touches out there all game. Someone needs to tell him that there's a job of work to do there, whether he wants to do it or not. So either he sticks to what he's put on the pitch to do, or he sits it out and lets a more professional player take on the role.

But no - him and the result aside, there were far more positives for us than I think we were expecting.
