Has anyone seen the England squad that uncle Roy has picked? This has got to be the weakest squad that any England Manager has picked. We have got the World class talents of Jack Colback, Fabian Delph, Danny Rose, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson. The rest of the world must be shaking in their boots.

Quite frankly, that is the best we have, what can we do? the golden generation was a myth, and Rooney, Wilshire, Sterling, Sturridge, etc are limp, ill motivated and overhyped. As for the world shaking in its boots? We have been laughed at for thirty years, we briefly had a decent side in 96 but ever possible tournament winners -never. The foreign press ridicule us and have done for years and rightly so, we are cack.
I agree Typical that the players picked are the only ones available. I am not having a go at Woy but bemoaning the fact that we can't compete with Germany, actually we have trouble competing with Costa Rica. What are Germany doing that is so right? What are we doing that is so wrong? The Premier League is stronger in depth than the Bundesliga but more decent German players are produced for the National team, why. Is it because there are too many Foreign players in Premiership teams? Or is it more complicated. The problem is not a new one but we don't seem any closer to solving it.
I think your first mistake is believing that the PL is stronger in depth than the Bundersliga, it is most certainly not. The depth of German talent is huge and is spread generously throughout three divisions. The german production line seems endless and has been mass producing quality footballers for 50 years. I did a bit of work for Mercedes recently and went over to meet some of their lower ranking guys. I went to a merc factory. Everyone who works there is taking a pay hit and could earn much more with the japs or yanks but they stay at merc because it is their emblem of their country, their achievements as a nation, a reflection of what germans can do, as one said to me "if it is good enough for Adolf, then it is good enough for me" The entire factory staff knew the history of merc, from the canteen girl to the MD, they knew their product. The same can be said for their football team - like Merc it is Germany, install in the mindset of your employees, the pride, the history, the importance but most of all the honour. There is no honour in being English when the product is diluted to piss. I watched the World Cup, Sturridge did not know the words to the anthem, Sterling was facing the wrong way, Rooney was scratching at his chlamydia and I have seen more passion in a bag of Crisps. We are a joke football team and very few of us represent England as we should for fear of ridicule or upset.
Good man that he is, Roy Hodgson is showing signs of losing touch with reality. His comment that "we are not that far off Germany" really is beyond parody. England still play ugly hoofball and treat the football like a hot potato. The Germans must really be quaking at the thought of facing Fabien Delph, Jack Colback or that other over hyped non entity, Jack Wilshire. It is sad, really. I used to look up to the likes of Moore, Hurst, Sir Trevor Brooking, Keegan, Bryan Robson etc. This crop are absolute w**kers, who only turn out for England to do themselves a favour with their commercial endorsements. Joe Hart being a good example - a vain, muscle bound buffoon paid a fortune to advertise Head and Shoulders.
"The honour of representing England". In this sentence, you have nailed it. How can many of the players really feel it ? Danny Welbeck's parents urged him to play for Ghana. Little Sterling was born in Jamaica. The list goes on. "National pride" or at least "English pride" have now become dirty words. I do have a remedy to this situation, it is radical and will no doubt offend the PC Brigade, but until you instill and promote English pride & guess what...pick English people who understand what it means to represent England, as opposed to pull on a white shirt 12 times a year to boost your bank balance while dressing like a gangsta and fathering kids with 6 different white girls.... we are doomed to fail. I would feel no pride if I were selected to play for Jamaica.
TBH the players picked are not even the best available, I would rather have Shelvey and Rodwell compared to Colback and Delph.
Chambers getting in the squad sums up everything wrong with the national team for as long as I can remember. No doubt he's had a good start at Arsenal, but how can he come from obscurity to the national team within 2 months? Because he joined one of the big 4.
Just watched the England press conference on Sky Sports. All credit to Hodgson for keeping a straight face when talking about Jack Colback and Fabien Delph. An-dross Townsend is also recalled, so France here-we-come....
