Well chaps (I would say chapesses but they all seemed to have disappeared) its the day of reckoning. Will the bulldog spirit of England pull through? I have the feeling this game is going to be a horrible borefest of anti-football from both sides. 1-1 draw and penalties are beckoning I think. I was playing Uno last night with my daughter and my folks and brother/sister. The game was on in the background but from the quietness followed by the whistling of the crowd Im glad I didn't watch it. Uno - what a cracking wee card game indeed.
England aren't a great team, but this has got to be one of the worst Italian teams I've ever known. Their best player is an ageing Pirlo. Still not sure we're good enough to go through.
Must you be so blasted pedantic?? Okay, my brother and one of my sisters (as I have two sisters but you probably knew that anyway.
Totally agree - the man's a cock of the highest order. They're not even good to watch - give me portugal or germany any day
They've looked great so far IMO and better than we have, and Pirlo ageing hardly matters for a player of his ilk, as seen with your very own ginge
How can they have looked great when their only win has come against the worst side in the tournament? I take your point with Pirlo, but Scholes isn't United's best player.
I agree Jip. I would like to see England being more attacking tonight as I think it's our best chance of victory. Although we've looked reasonably well organised this is a step up and i think Italy will be too clever for us if we keep it too tactical. If we lose it would be nice to see us havuing had a real go at it rather than just giving in a bit lamely or looking utterly clueless.
I'll be happy as long as we give a decent account of ourselves. Not a humiliation like the one in South Africa.
