Great effort that. NZ a little under cooked earlier on, but they are a really good side and just got blown away.

Stokes captaincy superb. He's an obvious leader, but also extremely astute and creative, stuff more born with than learned.

More of the same please! Including more young bowlers getting a try. We up here who have seen him knew Matty Potts was worth a try, but there are others and the door should be wide open for them. Some will thrive, some won't, some maybe later, but the sooner they are involved the better.

And when a team scores at five an over through a series against bowlers as good as that......!

Not going to happen if he's taking over from Morgan.

Be interesting to see what team they pick on Friday. You'd assume Jimmy comes back in if fit. Can you drop Overton after 97 runs at Headingley? Potts and Leach are undroppable and there's no way they can shorten the batting line up by giving Bairstow the gloves

Maybe Overton could replace Crawley at the top of the order:emoticon-0140-rofl:

There’s been some ding-dongs with the Aussies but can’t remember 3 on the bounce like this. I know Joe Root got man of the series but Bairstow has now got the 2nd fastest 50, 100 & 150 for England. The 50 and 100 came in this match and (if I’m not wrong) even more remarkable the 150 was his previous innings. All 3 in 13 days!

Edgbaston, Old Trafford and Trent Bridge 2005 - 3 amazing test matches but for different reasons. It's early days but the initial signs are very, very encouraging. 3 run chases of 250-300 and all of them done with the minimal of stress. I still think this team has the potential to be 50 all out, but I also think they can and will win games from that position. I was completely wrong about Stokes as captain, he is absolutely the right man for the job and you can tell the players respect him

I did, mate. He was like a rabbit caught in the headlights. I'm convinced it was nerves and lack of confidence with Pope. That seems to have been addressed now and he seems set to thrive in this new set-up.

    Exciting times ahead.

Michael Vaughan "stepping back" from BBC Work.

I'm no fan of him as a pundit/commentator but this is bullshit. One man's word against another's with no evidence of wrong-doing and a bloke loses his job.

Think it might be Broad's turn for a rest. There is more cricket to come, and those two just can't play every game.

I seem to remember Anderson gets Kohli out every few minutes when he bowls at him but that could have been a dream as well haha! 4th stump line edge to slip GONE!

I see that England play India in a test match at Birmingham starting tomorrow . . . . I have a feeling that it will be like an away game for England :emoticon-0112-wonde

This is the final test of the series that India bailed on last year.

    Foakes& Overton left out

Crawley, Lees, Pope, Root, Bairstow, Stokes (c), Billings (w), Potts, Broad, Leach, Anderson

Harsh on Overton but am impressed with Stokes/McCullum's absolute clarity of thought in selection

Previous regimes would have given Bairstow the gloves, then called up Sam Curran to strengthen the batting

I like the fact that BS/BMc are putting their faith in the batters to bat and the bowlers to bowl

India sound in turmoil. Captain and Vice Captain ruled out, Kohli can't buy a run and Bumrah captain for 1st time

    Ha'way the Stokes/McCullum era

Be interesting to see how their bowlers go against us. Hope we have a bit of a look at them before going nuts, not sure you can march down the pitch and have a big swing against Bumrah like! Looking forward to it, hope we smash them
