For years Englands woes could be laid at the feet of United and Co.

Now with a large part of the squad made up of Merseyside players, is the manager to blame for players not perfirming.

Or are our home club(s) home grown talent justnot up to the task?

I don't think any of them have come out of it with any real credit, aside from possibly Sterling for his performance against the eyeties

Baines was average aside from the 2nd half vs Uruguay. Jags was at fault for Jaws first goal. Gerrard stank the place out and Henderson looked out of his depth. Sturridge did OK but nothing more.

Hopefully Ross will get a start tomorrow and show what he can do.

    Entirely. Off with their heads!

Seriously though, half the team was made up of Liverpool players so yes, they should take a large part of the blame. Not all of it and some much less than others.

alternatively just blame Stefani gerrardi, Uruguayan legend that he is.

7 of the 10 out field starters were from both clubs, with yet more coming off the bench. So we can't escape criticism on this one.

Why do Liverpool's players (and Sotons) have a good performance in the league- but dreadful performance in the World Cup?
Personally- think it's down to Woy!

This time two years ago England were ranked in the top 5 of the world (albeit- in FIFA's flawed scoring system). At the next announcement we are expected to be somewhere between 17th and 21st. Woy has taken us sharply back.

He has done to England what Moyes did to United... set all the wrong records.

Biggest drop in world rankings in a calendar year (for England).
Lowest ever goals scored (for England).
First ever exit from group stages in 50 years.
Worst ever placement in a world cup for England. (I will have to double check- but at one point we were placed dead last for European nations)

To think- in the run up to the EC before Woy took over- we were undefeated in qualifiers... and in two years since he took over it's all gone sharply down hill.

Yes, Liverpool's players had a torrid world-cup and deserve some blame- but the manager is the main reason for disaster.
