So England have copied Argyle by not being able to score.....or so it seems.

They have no chance of winning the World Cup....in fact they are dropping down the pecking order and will do well to qualify from their group to the next stage......and that is without knowing who else will be in their group.

The players that we have depended on for so long....Gerrard,Lampard Cole,Ferdinand,Terry and the underused Carrick are finished or in the process of coming to the end of their international careers.

Players such as Walker,Cleverley,Henderson,Jones,Johnson and Wilshere are not good enough to bring us success in Brazil.

Maybe to that list I should add Hart....who can at times look so inadequate when under pressure at times.....but who is better ?

Until we limit foreign players coming into our Premier league things will not change.

In my honest opinion young english talent should not be allowed to be bought up by the big clubs and then to disappear into reserve teams and never have the chance to make it in the first team.....what happens....the big clubs replace aging stars by buying already made stars from abroad.

Okay big clubs quite often lend out some of their young so-called stars...but it doesn't seem to improve them so that they come back and gain a first team spot.

Division 1 & 2 clubs should not be allowed to fill their teams with foreign players.......young english players end up dropping down the league pyramid, even in the Conference you will find non-english players.

How many english players get to play in the big European leagues....not that many to be honest.....I think the English FA & FL should seriously get their thinking caps on and try to turn around what is happening to english talent.

The trouble is the lure of big money from TV companies will not let it happen.....there will be players on fantastic wages ...who will never make it as first team players in the Premiership....and will settle for the money more than the success....maybe they see the money as all the success they need.

As my American buddy lives in Rio, have a better chance of securing tickets I would imagine, but England's performances of late have been poor too. So is it worth wasting time, effort and money go? Would like to say I watched one England game at least at the W/C in Brazil.

Likewise if any of you desperately needs tickets maybe can obtain through my contact at face value prices!

"So England have copied Argyle". Not the words you would expect to find in the same book let alone sentence.

I know what you mean plym having said the above. I watched last night and it was pants and reminded me of Argyle to some extent. Reason for saying so is the reluctance to shoot and none of them seeming to want to have a go. Poor in front of goal so no wonder the outcome was England 0. To be fair I think England have been vastly overated for years. They get built up to impossible levels by the media when they qualify for any competition when in reality their chances of winning it are small. The same could be said for the majority of the constant qualifiers. Just because we won it once, nearly 50 years ago now, there is this belief we should be able to do it again. Facts are there are about 4 maybe 5 countries who could at best and maybe you could chuck in one unknown who might do it despite themselves as with Greece in the Euro.
