With our seeming inability to stop conceding stupid goals and with us dropping silly points every week it's hard to see anything but relegation How many points will we end up with come May and will we get the wooden spoon too ? A worrying fact is that we only have 7 games left at home and we have 10 away My prediction Remaining Home Games Tranmere - 3 Points Gillingham - 3 Points Swindon - 0 Points Port Vale - 1 Point Preston - 0 Points Notts Co - 3 Points Crewe - 3 Points Remaining Away Games Oldham - 0 Points Orient - 0 Points Sheff Utd - 0 Points Shrewsbury - 1 Point Peterborough - 0 Points Colchester - 1 Point Rotherham - 0 Points Walsall - 0 Points Stevenage - 1 Point Crawley - 0 Points 16 points from remaining 17 games equals 43 points as the final total and we'll finish bottom I reckon Hope you're all as depressed as doing this has made me
Remaining Home Games Tranmere - 3 Points Gillingham - 3 Points Swindon - 0 Points Port Vale - 3 Point Preston - 0 Points Notts Co - 3 Points Crewe - 3 Points Remaining Away Games Oldham - 3 Points Orient - 1 Points Sheff Utd - 0 Points Shrewsbury - 3 Point Peterborough - 0 Points Colchester - 3 Point Rotherham - 0 Points Walsall - 0 Points Stevenage - 3 Point Crawley - 0 Points 28 points see us finish on 55 points and just outside the relegation zone...
Your prediction of 3 points from a possible 30 is where a further points gain needs to be made if we are to stay up- I wonder if the club have done a similar exercise?- Moral of it all is that if we keep starting games 2-0 down like we did again last night, it doesn't matter how well we play 2nd half, it will always be an up hill struggle. If we only get 3 points away, that in itself deserves relegation as we would clearly not be as good or better than our peers. We must, and need to target the games at Oldham, Sheff U, Shrewsury, Stevenage and Crawley in particular, much harder
Our away form and lack of wins in general dictate that unless a major upturn in performances happens then we're as good as down now. We needed 10 points or more from Februarys matches to have a chance of climbing to safety but at this rate we'll be lucky to get 6.
If we do go down to the abyss, the players at this club may just need to start thinking about what they will do to earn a living Bad news guys - its a cruel hard world out there, and nobody gives a XXXX what you did in a previous life. You will still have to sweep the floor and take out the garbage like everyone else. It aint nice ! This is last-chance saloon, so if its confidence you need I would get some fast. And play like your lives depend on it - because they do Tranmere - 1 Points Gillingham - 1 Points Swindon - 0 Points Port Vale - 1 Point Preston - 0 Points Notts Co - 1 Points Crewe - 3 Points Oldham - 0 Points Orient - 1 Points Sheff Utd - 0 Points Shrewsbury - 3 Point Peterborough - 0 Points Colchester - 1 Point Rotherham - 0 Points Walsall - 0 Points Stevenage - 1 Point Crawley - 0 Points
Having looked at those fixtures again, and bearing in mind that we have only won 5 league games out of 29, I thought what might be a realistic W-D-L from 17. With only 5 wins out of 29, I cant see much beyond another 5,on that basis, gives us 42 points. That would mean a minimum 8 draws needed (assuming 50 to stay up) and only able to suffer 4 more defeats. Cant say I am optimistic on this basis. Win ratio needs to improve drastically. 5/29 currently =17%
We have 17 games left to get 24 more points if we are going to stand any chance of staying up and I can't see us getting anywhere near close to that target with our current form. It doesn't look very good does it? Time to pack the bucket and spade for the trip to Morecombe and just think that if Yeovil get relegated they will still be in a higher division than us along with likes of mighty Fleetwood. Forget the beach utensils and just pack up and leave town for good because the joint is taking on a very bad smell.
Shiny mate.....how are the drugs then? 9 wins between now and the end!.........no 'kin chance me old mucker!
