At last back home internet speed at 0.001 sec to down load an item from anything between 1min and 20 min up there... don't know what is worst …. been up there [ Scotland ] and had 2 or 3 weeks with no media contact or finding a place that are just happy they can download BBC sport inside 5 mins and "flick" the pages every 5 or so minutes!!!!! I even had to show the garage how to sort my problem to get me home … a new trick in their book … to get someone mobile whilst they wait / source the replacement part!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS FOR city WELL somewhat disappointed...left plyd 8 5th and 14 pts returned plyd 11 10th 16 pts goals have dried up !
Hope you had a good time despite your difficulties John ? Were you doing the Scotland 500 by any chance ? I know the Highlands well having worked in Inverness, Forres and Nairn with a previous employer and have done Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Thurso, John O' Groats etc and all of the ports along the east coast from Nairn like Portsoy, Burghead, and Findochty
Been to almost everywhere north east south and west. draw aline along hadrians and probably done every square if you divided it up in 10 mile x 10 mile not been to the northern islands but a couple of those nearer sailing from near Glasgow.....just been north of Ullapool south of durness in a valley with 3g mast at either end..ish but not serving the the villages between due to high ground 400m obstructing signal. rained for14 days winds of 30mph gusts 50 mph most rain was 28mm in 1 hour twice 16mm /12mm in an hour ………….. nearby river raised almost 1 metre in 3 hours … stayed like it for about 2 hours and 2 hours later was normal ….... all good fun but bones beginning to complain walking 5 miles up the mountain, spending 6 hours under it, and stumbling back down in the dark 1 night after midnight !!!!!!!!! ………. 6 times in 10 of the days!!!!!
There is one thing in life that I believe in …. use it or lose it, I have been an advocate of that, moreso, for probably the last 3 decades + I see around me younger peeps [ most over 55-65 ] that are drying up, doing very little and will soon be able to walk to the shop for a paper, about 400m, in half an hour! probably 35 mins back ……….. sanity is a mind thing.... uuuuuuuum of course it is ...lol, now where was I ah yes I was up there ..uuummm time for a cup of tea …..
