Apparantly only two of the seven teams to have collected two points from their opening six Premier League games have been relegated. Now that's a stat i like!! I'm as gutted as the next R's fan that we didn't finally get our first win last night but the team still needs time to gel. Yes, MH hasn't got everything right, by any means, but the season is only 6 games old and look what a couple of draws/wins would do to our position in the table. Give the lads a chance - yes, let's really get critcal if we're adrift after another 6 games but for now, let's get behind the boys and believe that it will turnaround.
Problem is Hughes has been here for 9 months and had a full summer to work with the team as well. We can't win away, and we have had our worst start of a season, including our worst result at home in over forty years to a relegation rival (Swansea). 6 more games I can accept, but I fear we won't get many more points from these games. Hope I am wrong.
Yes, that's encouraging; also the fact that we had no o.g.'s in this game shows that it is possible to improve 100% on any previous trend and nip it firmly in the bud. However it must be noted that we seem to have slipped back into a bad habit we thought we had completely eradicated, namely red card recklessness. That's one statistic we do not want to replicate from last season. Swings and roundabouts.
Thanks Lofty. Been thinking about looking up some sort of stat like that so glad to know it. Despite this woeful start, the bookies still do not have us marked as relegation fodder. Perhaps they know something we are all overlooking? LIke the fact that there are still a hell of a lot of points to play for!!
