No, I mean Emyr Huws... The midfield youngster who was part of our academy before becoming another fantastic acquisition for Man City but is now on loan at Birmingham and is scoring wondergoals.
This Emyr Huws: I'm afraid it's yet another in a long line of talent that we've let go prematurely. There is a pattern unfortunately.
Fantastic goal but I wonder how often he will do that. As for letting him go prematurely, I don't know much about the circumstances. Did we have a choice in the matter? Man City wasn't it? Hard to keep him if they were offering a contract. Perhaps he'll return one day.
He's been banging them in for Birmingham apparently.
Wiki stats - Northampton Town; 10 apps,0 goals. Birmingham City; 12 apps,2 goals. Reports of him "banging them in" would appear to have been exaggerations. Craig Beattie scored some equally stunning goals for The Swans',from similar distances.
Huws is a kid though. But I think there is a lot of expectation on this young man and maybe too much. Fact is he's wasted at City.
Well,he's 20,so not really "a kid" anymore. Man.City possibly guilty of talent hoarding. Being loaned out to lower league Clubs would seem like a waste of his apparent talent.
Man city scouts spotted Emyr a long time ago before his time with us and they kept track of him, Ivor is right saying we had no option when Man city took him off us as they were better prepared to school him, He is a tidy lad but not the standard to make it for man city or us now but he has some skill and will do ok in the lower leagues. Unfortunately when these big clubs take you on then it does not mean they are going to make it big time, Most kids dont and emyr was one of these youngsters, Even today with our set up which is getting better season after season we would still have trouble attracting local talent of joining us if a big club wanted them but at the same time we can attract lower league clubs kids better than them...
I haven't followed him at all and didn't know he was at Birmingham, but now suddenly it coming out that Brummie fans regard him highly... how much that is down to his goal against Middleborough remains to be seen.
