I see alot of you guys are talking about getting Emnes. Is this serious talk or what? I only ask, ask he is Championship at best and hardly has the best scoring record. Surely someone like Mackail SMith would be a better option?

Would be great backup which is why i want to buy him, i dont think he should start as his goalscoring record for Boro hasn't been the best by a long shot but he could play in any of the top 4 positions for us and our style of play obviously suits him judging by his loan spell !

I wasn't particularly impressed with him either JackAsh. I've been wondering why more people aren't talking about Mackail Smith as well...

I think because Emnes scored the winner against Cardiff it sort of covers up other performances. I don't think he was bad at all, I just found he always seemed to pick the ball up going away from goal. I could be wrong though.

Agree with you, he wasn't bad. But is he really good enough for the PL.....I really don't think so.

Think he played a few games up there Jager. But, he's struggled for goals in the Championship, so goals in the PL would be non existant I would imagine.

Never, ever worth £2million. I would, maybe, buy him for £500K, just as back up for Dyer/Sinclair maybe.

Well from what I've seen of Emnes, he reminds me of a youthful Jason Scotland, he certainly turns, and shoots like him, and in fairness he did good when he was with us for that month long loan spell, if you check Emnes history, he has played for Middlesbrough in the Premiership, and won MOTM awards for his performances, as well as putting in good shifts against Villa, and Newcastle, I won't say no to him..................

Well he is always going to be in the folklore of our club for scoring against Cardiff for us, but boro will want compo for him, if it reaches 7 figures it's to much imo

Well he's only got 12 months left on his contract, can't see that being much, yes they paid £3.5 M for him some years back, but they won't get anywhere near that now, with him close to being out of contract!..............

I´d say for a million he´d be a tidy buy. Plays across the park in our system, and clearly can score goals if given the opportunity. Top level though? Doubt it to be honest...although after a year or two with our team he´d be as effective as Dyer I´d imagine?

He was decent when he came to us on loan, we have to bare it in mind that players don't fit into our style instantly, but in the 4 games he was with us he scored 2 goals, which is decent for a winger. I think he would be a good addition, he seems like the kind of player who can come on at half time for in the second half and make a difference

Reading most posts on him since he came on loan had me sensing that he's great guy to help a team get into the Premier , maybe not so much once you reached there . Possible loan , probably not a buy unless a deal that can't be refused ( sub million ) .

Fair comment Breezy, though our main backup is Moore, and I think Emnes would be a 100% improvement on Moore!...........

If we can get him for under a million he would be a good addition for a bit of strength and depth, don't think he would be good enough (at the moment) to be a regular but you never know...anything in excess of a million then just wait a year and offer him a contract as he would be a free.

When ever i saw Emnes play for Boro he looked the laziest player i've ever seen.
he did all right for us, but when he first came i was gutted. Not paying anything over 500k for him though

Personally i'd love Emnes as a Quality back up especially for the wingers as Everyone has an injury/ absence in some way as well as striker back up! also whats the busines with mckaill smith?? watched him quite a bit this season and his passion for space and running and just quality of finishing is emmaculate! and i did hear that he laft his former club or was looking into it for a Prem team.

Also remember hearing from somwhere not sure where or relyable at all but it possibly could be us!
