Said on the new signing and transfer rumour thread he can play on the wing as well, he really isn't a forward in the way it's being said.

If he is as quick as they say, I'm sure Nigel will use him as a wider attacking player.

I think he'll probably be on the left, where J-Rod has been playing with Ramirez down the right and Lambert or Rod in the middle

If he is not really a centre forward maybe we could use him as a pacey centre back ?

Well, back in the days of The Wanderers and Saints playing in the original sash, or halves, quarters, etc... the formations were often 1-1-8..! We could be starting a whole new trend. :)

I did say [what I thought was] a few weeks back that the squad was going to be revamped over the next couple of seasons. I just didn't realise time passed so quickly.

Wasn't 2-3-5 the normal way to go? I might give that a try on Football Manager.

Funny how we sign a great player, with a lot of interesting things to talk about and people are more interested in making up rumours. People clearly have their priorities. Go watch Eastenders if you want drama of your sort.

Football teams, and certainly Saints, played 2-3-5 up until about 1967-68-69. The formation fizzled out because of the success and adoption of Alf Ramsey's Wingless Wonders England team.

2-3-5 was used at home and 4-3-3 was used away. If you look up the video of the match where Ron Davies scored his hat-trick against ManU; in part 2 of the video, interviewer Jimmy Hill asks Ron about this new away formation Saints were playing... 4-4-2..! :)

Ramirez will be most probably next. Then the CB's.

I've tried using the WM formation in FM...it's a great way to lose 8-5.
