Seeing as we dont have any recognised Centre backs at senior level...do we qualify for an emergency loan?

If you lose both your keepers you can get one in. Surely The Premier League and The FA recognise the position we find ourselves in, especially as Saylor is out for the b*stard season. What a f*cker that is!

I'm repeating myself, but this situation was totally avoidable if we had done a very simple thing in the summer/August in signing a player who is capable of playing centre back!!! Its not like us mug fans didn't recognise it and scream it til you turn blue in the face eh? Never mind the clubs staff.....

Great start could be unraveling before our very eyes!!!

    F*ck. Off.

No. If Kadar, Perch and probably Simpson get injured maybe yes.

Emergency loans are for keepers only.

Na, you can play different players in defence but it only applies to GK as it's more of a specialist position.

    Keepers only and rightly so.

And calm down, why all the hysteria?

Hes right though lads, the situation was completely avoidable and we should have had cover brought in pre-season, now we find ourselves considering Kadar and hoping for the best.

Most of our wins this season have been mainly due to Colo and Taylor forming that partnership at the back, we've been fantastic, and without 1 and for a while even both of them we could be ****ed.

The only way we could get away with not replacing Campbell would be if we had faith in Kadar, it's abundantly clear that the management dont rate him. Added to the fact that 2 of our existing 3 centre backs are very injury prone and it was a recipe for disaster.

It wasn't that avoidable though, even if we'd brought one in we couldn't have predicted losing all three first choice centre halfs at once. We'd still be at new boy plus Perch. Standard Newcastle injury crisis basically, if we ever want to avoid it we'd need a 200 man squad...

    This <ok>

We aren't playing anyone in the top 6 in the next 3-4 weeks and do have players that can come in and do a job, so no need for the knee jerk panic. We don't even know what is the matter with Collo, Talksport seemed to think it was just a dead leg which is a nothing injury

If Colo makes it for Norwich we can still win. If not I'd take a point now.

Still confident for Swansea and West Brom at home. Colo + Perch will see us through those two.

Even if we had just one extra CB we'd still be much better equipped than we are now. The fact that we went into the season with only three natural CBs is just poor management, especially considering one of those is known to be injury prone.

Williamson and Taylor have both been fairly injury prone. Since we signed Willo we've been incredibly lucky that they have effectively taken turns to have serious injuries rather than at the same time.

Agree. We came into the campaign with Colo, Saylor and Willo as primary CB's with Perch, Kadar, Santon, Simpson and Tavernier all known to be able to do a job there. With Perch and Kadar probably initially considered 4th and 5th choices.

Kadar has fallen out of favour, Tavernier on loan (still?) and Simpson being used in his primary position.

That still leaves five CB's. How many more are we supposed to have remembering our squad limit of 25?

We are having an injury crisis at CB and it is time for our fringe options to step up to the plate. I doubt there is another team in the prem who would not also be facing the same problem with their 3 first choices out.

Really don't understand the need for overreactions like these. Pre season everybody was listing ST, RW and LB as our priorities but now we are getting wise after the event. Why have fringe players if it is a disaster to have to use them?

I'm sure Pards will spend the week trying out all the remaining options and will pick the two that gel best as a pair and for one game (hopefully Colo back for the Swans) we will have to hope that they are good enough, but I really can't see the need for panic and finger pointing.

Loving the way how all of a sudden it's poor management. Last week after Man U result it wasn't. Couple of injuries & all of a sudden Pardew & MA are inept. Fickle lads very fickle.

To be fair, the Man U result has nothing to do with the fact we only have 3 centre backs and 4 are required. Pardew isnt inept.
