If we want to sign a player on an emergency loan that lasts until the Playoff Final (27th May) without missing a game after joining us then the earliest date we can do it is the 11th February. The rules say there is a maximum of 93 days at a club, but you can split that into chunks so long as each chunk is 28 days. The emergency loan deadline is the 4th Thursday in March (28th), so the last chunk would have to start then and run to 27th May, which is 60 days. That would leave us with 33 days available. Before the 28th March the last game we play is 16th March (international break), and 33 days before that is 11th February. During the first part of the loan the player would be recallable on or after 11th March, so could only miss one game as a result. In the break the player would officially return to his parent club, but as it's an international break there's no reason to think that they would want him to as they won't have a game either (unless they've got a rearranged game in the midweek before it) so he'd probably just stay and train with us regardless. During the 2nd chunk they wouldn't be recallable until 25th April, which would see them miss our last two games of the regular season and any playoff games. We wouldn't be able to sign a replacement as it would be after the deadline. The only issue would be that his club might not want to send him back for the 2nd chunk, but with any emergency loan we can lose them after 28 days so the presence of the break in the loan is irrelevent as without the break they'd be able to recall them anyway. If we want to sign a player on an emergency loan that lasts until the end of the regular season (4th May) then we can do it any time now. The second chunk from 28th March would be 37 days, leaving 56 for the first chunk. 56 days from today takes us to 22nd March which is in the international break mentioned above. Due to the recall issue though it might be worth doing it as a 28 day loan to start with, then when that finishes do another 28 days, then the final 37. That way once each chunk was confirmed we'd only be at risk of losing the player for the last 2 games (of the 3rd chunk). Doing it as a 56 and a 37 we'd spend the second half of the 56 wondering whether he was about to be recalled or not, when it would be better to know that we had him until a definite date. The only exception to this is that once the transfer window closes we can't make any emergency loans for a week. (and the only exception to that is we can sign a goalkeeper if 2 of Oxley, Jakupovic and Stockdale get injured, it might need to be 3 from 4 if Cracknell is on a first year professional contract).
Any reason we give, it's just a name that doesn't accurately describe the thing, like Hull City striker.
Hahahaha. At least someone can make me laugh amongst the range of mongs who are in the middle of having nervous breakdowns on here.
