Our neighbour has decided to let his mother’s house out via estate agents for emergency housing.

In short means loads of people in and out every few months, not ideal, but understand why he does it more ££ than plain letting and as he got stung for £6k from the last tenants , for him this is probably a safer option.

First lot from East London so I’m told came stayed 8-10 weeks, no idea who was the person who was supposed to be in there as loads came and went, more or less polite, well some of them, one had a chip on his shoulder.

The next lot move in now this is where I’m not happy they are hardly ever at the house when they are they are OK, but every now and again you have large groups of males late night talking very very loud with windows open regardless of the weather, first time 8-12 Males needless to say I did not knock, by the time I got up for work all gone, 6.00am, then now one in the house for the rest of the week, until the following weekend same thing early hours load of men but not as many as before so I knock, It all goes quiet, but they dot answer, again ill gone by time I’m up, then no one in house , then a week or so ago they are back living there, last week they go again until last night and a couple of males are back around 10pm, not loud this time, even though I could hear talking, gone by 9am

Now for me its worrying for a few things

    Strange ins and outs.

    Abuse of emergency housing.

Emergency housing means you need a roof over your head surely that means you should be living in it?

Others I have seen are struggling to get housing they could be in that house.

If you have a top of the line Merc with private plates why do you need emergency housing?

Lastly they are Muslim, do I make some aware given what is happening in the world, purely for the strange hours they keep and why large groups of males come late night then go again?

It wouldn't do any harm. If they were your common or garden yobs they'd come to the door when you knock, probably quite confrontational. I believe the security services are discreet when they check up on people.

Did you watch the last series of Homeland ?

On a serious note, if I were in your position and it continued, I would move. Life is too short.

I have recently had a Ghanian family move from above my flat.

Absolute pain in the a*** through noise.

One day I tried to call a truce to our differences, she was in my gaff and came out with "but it's my culture". I'm no racist, my wife is Brasilian, but comments like that tell me you should take your f****** culture back to where you were from.

Good luck with that, LB. WE had 14 years of living next to a family of Palace fans, and it was a constant battle to get the parents to control their grown-up offspring's Garage music.

A basic requirement is that we should all be allowed to live in peace and quiet.

People that cannot adhere to that are ignorant bunch of c****.

When you get someone who is determined to make a lot of noise it's not so easy to stop them, particularly if they own their own home, which is not the case here. WE had 14 years of it from our Palace supporting neighbours. Catford police are useless, they gave us a leaflet from a mediation service. The council gave them a 6 month warning, but as soon as that was up the problem started again. I knocked on their door loads of times, and they did turn it down for a while, but then it would creep back in, and I got fed up doing that. Believe me it's a very widespread problem, that's why the council takes so long to answer complaints.

    You have my sympathies.

For me it then becomes a mental problem as you are waiting for the noise to start.

I am not a violent man but I came close to it, fortunately for the woman she nipped things in the bud by being served a notice(eventually) by the landlord.

Ironically, the landlord could not give a f*** about my situation but the tenant then knocked them for rent and caused mayhem with the state of the property.

This did not help me but some may call it Karma.

My first day on here fella and if I told you what I thought it would probably be my last, Suffice to say take Roystens advice and run away. Just like the vast majority of other English folk have done over the past several years. Problem is it won't belong before there is no place to run to

Unfortunately it is one of the many consequences of Tony Blair's disasterous dalliance with trendy liberal cosmopolitan ideals from 1997-2007.

Everybody and every form of deviance was to be encouraged unless you were male, English, and batted off a friendly wicket.

Tony Blair? We moved in beside our noisy neighbours in 1999, moved out 2013. One of the first times I complained their mother answered the door, and she said "That's funny, the neighbours at the last place said just the same thing" So, although Tony Blair may have a lot to answer for, that wasn't one of the things.
