I tipped him to leave before the window. Looks like he's here till at least Jan now which is a shame because out of everyone in the squad he's the one we need least imo, so finding him a new club to bring somebody else in would have been ideal.
On the contrary I think Embleton is a very useful player to have in the squad. He pops up with important goals, can play a variety of positions and never lets the team down.

Yeah i agree mate but if it was between him, Pritch or sending Ba or Rigg out on loan id rather lose him.

Ideally id like them all to stay but Mowbray has already hinted that the wage bill needs reducing, so if that is the case id rather sacrifice Embleton to bring in a CDM or another striker.

Personally, I'd rather lose Pritchard, especially now we have Dack. I think Embo's problem is that he hasn't nailed down a position. Not convinced he's good enough as a 10. nor fast enough to play wide but I'm a big fan of his/

I'm against the notion of "squad players" but he is the epitome of a squad player - great option off the bench, but you might be right re Rigg/Ba

I'd be very sad to see him go, that goal at Wembley was all part of an amazing day

Yep,we love him,he's one of us,but, unfortunately,he's just a little bit short at the next level. I've said before on here,he's a nice footballer....two footed, sees the moves, but,he;s not mobile enough.

He's nowhere near as good as Pritchard. He was good for where we were, but definitely not for where we are currently or want to be

I’d rather Pritch than Embo left for sure.

Feel like both will soon enough like.
Things change but at the moment it looks like Dack is here for that role with Ba and Rigg as the competition/future. I think there’s still a chance Embleton proves himself, he’s a good two footed player but I reckon he’s on the list that would have been available for loan. I love Pritchard but think he’ll be away if we get a decent offer.

send Rigg out on loan, no way.

Apart from the contribution he can make I think it would be a PR disaster, the supporters want to see him play for Sunderland.

He'll also create a lot of media attention, give our other young players a boost and keep him focused on SAFC.

I fully expect to see him play against Crewe.

Ba and Rigg will be around the first team squad. No point in a loan move for Embo we'd be best selling if the club doesn't feel he'll feature much. Hopefully get the Keeper sorted soon :emoticon-0103-cool:

Sadly he's had chances to nail down a place and failed. He's seen players like Ekwah come in and quickly get ahead of him. His propensity for vanishing in games is what lets him down imo.

Rigg will play games this season in the first team. I 've seen enough to realise he is going to be invaluable this year.

Mowbray has basically said 'It goes against reason, to start a 16yr old in the Championship, but he's leaving me no option.'

I agree and it's based as much on his attitude as his ability.

Yep, he is two footed and scores the odd goal.
Lets see what happens when he is fit again and whether he can force his way into the side.
