The £20,000 should be taken from Ash's wages. He caused the problem. As Captain he should be leading by example.

Thought this was a thread about the clowns down the road with a title like that. Pleasant to see it's not. I'd make Ash pay it too as it was a moment of mentality and I know all about mentality I can assure you

<confused> Anyway.... yes, caused by the Captain who imo shouldn't be. I'd give it to Vorm or even Rangel.

It won't be taken from his wages but it should be.

Yes agree...or maybe paid by all the players who were playing at the time of the incident...it's pocket money to them and should not come out of the clubs coffers..

When Leon is playing I'd give the Captaincy to him. Otherwise Rangel. I don't think Williams is up to it. He's not commanding enough and bitches about matches afterwards on Twitter.

    Leading by example my foot.

Guys, c'mon, what did you see I didn't.

I thought someone, Sagbo I think, booted Ash in the hand when Ash went to get the ball, then Huddlestone came charging in.

Hull were under pressure, on the back foot and close to conceding at that point and they knew it. They deliberately slowed the game down and if you watch the incident back you will see, Huddlestone I think, push his fist into a Swansea players face, then it all kicked off. I want my captain to get stuck in when the opposition are taking the p***. Ash is our captain, our trench leader, and, in my humble opinion, acted like one, he fought for the ball and defended his players.

By the way, I saw Ash shopping in Sainsburys Uplands yesterday, I nodded and said "Hi Ash" as I nonchalantly walked passed. He replied "Hi buddy" and smiled, what a guy. So leave my new best friend alone or else :emoticon-0146-punch

I have always said from day one that ash is not captain material and he plays a lot better without the responsibility. I dont blame him as he was chosen at the time but he makes a hell of a lot of mistakes since his appointment and i put that down to not concentrating on his own game and worrying about his team mates. It takes a special player to be club captain and i don't think we have anyone who is anywhere close to our past captains like monk and martinez who were good at their job...I give ash credit for his efforts and he is the best we have got but we do need someone who is a natural in the future...

Fair point Dai1 but looking at the rest of the team/squad, I just don't see anyone else to take his place.

For me the only player who stands out as potential captain could be JJS, but he's a little volatile too. I get the feeling that the responsibility could curtail his performance too

Rangel would be my captain. If there are two "camps" in the dressing room, which I doubt, Rangel would have a respected voice in both. He's Spanish, obviously, but he is settled here with a local girl and very much part of the scenery. Nice guy with it, appreciating the career and living that our football club has given him.

Rangel would be my choice also but i think the same would apply to him as i have said about ash.

Could be good, never thought about Rangel. Maybe Leon, he always plays 100%, problem is he won't be playing every game.

I've mentioned Rangel previously because of the Spanish link - he's an excellent 'bridge' and seems unafraid to shout on the pitch. Been with us a long time too. Maybe Britton when he's on the field of play but would he have the presence? One thing's clear for me - Williams hasn't relsihed the captaincy.

I can see much merit in this suggestion.
