How many embarrassing celebrity fans are out there?

Posh fans can't be too pleased at having Adrian Durham associated with them.

I think Alan Green's local team is Macclesfield.

    Anybody know of anymore?

I believe the Kray twins were Leyton Orient fans, that's probably one the club weren't keen on!

Elton John Watford is a bad one.

There must surely be some z list soap actors supporting clubs.

On the subject of embarrassing fans, when I go to games and see grown adults with their faces painted wigs and jester hats I quite often think 'oh dear how old are you?', I'm all for people having fun and I'm quite sure most of us ignore it, but there is something about that which makes me cringe when I see it.

I can't see where Elton is an embarrassment, he's well liked and has been very generous to Watford, both in terms of time and financial support!

Obviously I would defend him, but Elton John has done so much for our club we wouldn't be where we are today without him, or have had 30 years (minus a couple of seasons) in the top 2 divisions! He is actually a very knowledgable fan when it comes to football. He calls the club on a regular basis to get updates on how everything is. He has also done 2 concerts at the Vic where he didn't ask for a single penny, and all profit went to the club!

Everything he has done for our club, I would suggest he is one of the least "embarrassing" fans!

As for clubs who do have embarrassing fans.... I believe Arsenal would have had one of the worst in Bin Laden! I would also say any Londoners who support Man Utd!

Don't worry, I won't mention any one-off incidents when a drunk fan comes onto the pitch for a little speech.... ;-)

Hi SK, You will note from my earlier response that I do not regard him as embarrassing, as for tantrums, I think we are all guilty of that at times, I've certainly witnessed a few on here! I have a sneaky feeling, but hope that I'm wrong, that there may be an element of homophobia here!

Most of us are very proud of Delia and don't regard that incident as embarrassing, more a show of passion and loyalty! <ok>

This sort of homophobic crap acceptable in Norfolk? I would stop worrying about embarrassing celebrity fans and look a bit closer to home <doh>

    No worries, cheers <ok>

I don't mind the tantrums to be honest. As for the homophobia - I've had comments all my life about EJ being a Watford fan... I have never seen it as an insult. I even get the 'gay' comments at work now from 'grown' men. I just smile, nod and call them an idiot!

Was completely tongue in cheek <ok>

I like when fans/owners etc show some passion! I think it was Boothroyd with us who once came on to the pitch to try and gee the fans up! At least it shows they care

Not from my side, but if your trying insulate any homophobia on my behalf then that's a bit of a cheap shot.

Bin Ladens a great shout Kev. Lots of South East based Man United fans too.

On reading chippy's post, I didn't actually think that it was homophobic, although very probably libellous, given the definition of 'nonce'.
