im sorry fellas but yet again another very poor away followin at the britt today ... u are 1 of of only 3 teams with such abysmal away followin personally im sure a team promoted wud contribute more to the Premier League ! thats just the way it is !
Possibly one of the reasons we do not get a good away following,is we very rarely put in any sort of performance. today was my 3rd away match this season and I am already loosing patience with the lacklustre displays we produce away from home. And remember we are almost into November and only 2 points from the bottom of the table.
We don't really care what other supporters think It's not about the quantity It's about the quality of our support. The so called best home crowd in the league yesterday didn't start singing till they scored the first goal in the 80th Minute !!!!!
Whilst I think Potter Palm is on a WUM misssion? I don't agree that he should to be fair. It was very low compared to most Prem teams. But, since your away form is about as good as ours, Stoke's is woeful. We do take a lot more fans to away games. NO ONE said we were the best McBride.. WHEN we have something to sing about we ARE the loudest. DID you not hear us singing for Danny Murphy? Tell us WHY Mr Jol took him off... before he was **** off YOU were there? You fill in the blanks.
another thing is that the population of fulham is probably about half that of Stoke. Few football fans in London will support Fulham unless they have a very strong connection with it- there are millions of other teams- arsenal, QPR, e.t.c, Chelsea (the club) is actually in Fulham. It is much harder for a team like us to attract fans than Stoke, the dominant team in that area- a one city football team. That, combined with terrible away form, leads to few away fans. In response to saying a newly promoted team would offer more, when Fulham were newly promoted our away followings were in the top quarter of the League Still, we do get some good followings every now and then- wolves last season was particuarlly loud, and ive never experienced a better atmosphere than portsmouth, in our survival season (check out youtube if you dont belive me, im sure there will be some good footage)Lastly, Stokes a ****hole and miles away. Why would anyone want to go there is beyond me
Stoke remains the one and only place where another football "fan" has tried to hit me. Whilst I don't doubt this was a completely isolated incident, I will not go back to the Britannia.
I received a bit of stick as I walked back to the station yesterday. It was a very poor away day, with over half an hour walk to the station. no pubs in the area and there weren't even any TVs in the concourse of the away end so couldn't watch the lunchtime match. Ground itself was quite nice and had a decent view from the away end but little else to shout about, don't think I'll go back anytime soon.
Thanks for the kind words cottager, though I live in Birmingham so stoke is only a 45 min train journey. Felt much worse for the other 500 of us who had to go all the way back to london after such a sub-standard performance.
If i had to watch that ponce danny murphy lumbering about the pitch i would not go either, home or away!
