Not by the performance, I'm proud of that. We played well, looked a harsh sending off too given both bookings were soft, both picked up in an opposing half with no attacking threat what so ever and the 2nd looked like he played the ball(though I'd need to see a replay) . And not by the the dreadful officiating, even though it's some of the worst I've ever seen, between a very harsh sending off to not allowing a substitution but make M'Villa stay off the pitch for no reason for a moment before he realised he'd made yet another dreadful mistake or allowing play to commence with a manager 15 yards on the the pitch. It's not for me to feel embarrassed on behalf of the ref.

It's the first time I've sat north of the halfway line for many a season and that's what embarrassed me. The shower of **** who dare to call themselves a supporter, the lazy, helf arsed ****s who couldn't be arsed to clap let alone get off their arses, yet manage to bounce in celebration at the mags getting beat. I saw half our problem today. Spineless, pathetic half arsed fans.

Reduce the capacity to 20k and let the people in who can be arsed to ****ing support their team I say. The north stand are pathetic, couldn't even be bothered to be the 11th man when we went down to 10. ****ing shameful.

I don't include senior citizens in this, they've earned the right sit and enjoy the game and put their health first, but they're distributed all around the ground. The North stand made me ashamed to support Sunderland today, and I made no secret of my feelings believe me, and guess what? They didn't have the backbone to stand up to me let alone their team. Sad sad day for me. Despite the pride the men on the pitch gave me. Everything wrong with SAFC for me today was entirely fan based.

Sorry but it's just my opinion on the most sterile experience of my life.

    What a load of ****e, Bri <doh>:emoticon-0110-tongu
I sit in the Fulwell End, and am embarrassed by, and upset with your insults :emoticon-0101-sadsm
This end is more often than not like a library, but I shout/sing/support my team continuously, and I've made my feelings known about the lack of atmosphere, but you generalising about us is completely out of order and, as mentioned above, an insult to the few people around me that try <steam>

We've had now't to shout about for ages, and the lack of noise/support is an issue with me, too, but your comments are just terribly insulting to me :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Your overuse of smiles has got me confused as always Gordon. But I'll say this, somebody sat not making a sound with their hands on their lap is more use watching a stream at home than in the ground.

I'm not generalising at all , I'm talking specifically about the ****ers who can't be arsed. That's not generalising, that's pointing the finger people at the people who can't be arsed. It's entirely spacific. You want me to name names, well that impossible, even if I knew the spineless useless ****s, there was just too many to name.

Same at Newcastle mate. MA disbanded our singing section (as it was very loud and vocal against him) and all other parts of the stadium generate as much noise as an out of breath mouse! Infuriates me too and considering you were 2 up at one point, that should have shaken the fans up and got them going.

Bearly a sound 2-0 up mate. Pathetic. It's not the Sunderland I grew up with, know and love. It's always been about the fans more than anything. Seeing such indifference from our fan base is saddening. There was very little difference between 2 up and 2-2 apart from the frustration at the ref(which grew as the game went on) and your(the mags) defeat at the end.

You lot getting hammered should never receive a bigger reaction than us being two up. :(

I think things will become a lot clearer at the club over the next couple of days.

There's a lot of anger and frustration on here at the minute, which is understandable enough.

But we've been here before and we just need something that England are missing right now against the Aussies. Composure.

Have a few beers lads and just enjoy the rest of the evening.

No one gets relegated in October.

Oddly enough I thought the atmosphere was pretty good, especially when we were 2-0 up. Everyone round me was going mental when we scored and even the two miserable feckers who sit behind me seemed happier than usual.

Good game, 4-1 to us would have been fair I think. I don't recall Lens' first yellow but his second looked well deserved, seemed to randomly lunge at someone, stupid when he should have known he was on a yellow. I think Noble should have walked too it looked like he caught someone in the chops but unfortunately for us the refs hate boner for us was standing at full attention by that point so nothing happened.

You can't have been in the North Stand.... It was awful.
I don't know if it's because the seats are cushioned that no-one fancied standing up from time to time?!?
Apart from Bri, myself & my lad; I could count on one hand how many supporters had any visible passion today.
The only time they raised an eyebrow is when the ****in idiots above us decided to throw drinks / bottles down on us (3 times). Also note the stewards seemed as blind as the referee to what was going on.

No I wasn't, East Stand near the halfway line. It sounds like it was worlds apart to where you were.

I've been to a few matches this season where everyone seemed to be twiddling their thumbs and avoiding eye contact but I didn't think today was like that.

Where we were at you could see him play the ball if he got the man first fair do's it was a foul. But the position it was in and the fact it was a genuine play for the ball a think a second yellow was way harsh, but by that point the ref looked like he lost the plot, 15 minutes later with the M'Villa sub incident and Bilic on the pitch it proved he lost the plot.

Oh yeah the ref even played advantage to West Ham deep in their own half when we had 11 men behind the ball. Where could advantage possibly gained. Atrocious refereeing.

My opinion's not worth much on anything that happens on the other side of the pitch, I wasn't wearing my glasses don't usually bother for the football.

The ref certainly did lose it, we're all used to refs that seem determined to see us suffer but that guy was something else. When his bosses go through the footage they'll be there for days telling him what a **** he was.

I've seen it again and I stick with my judgement.

First was a yellow no question.

The second? Fair dos a free kick but he was entitled to go for that ball, he went for the ball and met the ball, but momentum took his trailing leg through the man. It was a genuine attempt for the ball in West Ham's own half in a completely none threatening position for a 50/50 ball. It was a very soft second yellow imo. We call that a tackle where i come from.

Whereas Noble's forearm smash was a straight red never mind a second no existent yellow - btw Bri I am 60 next year have a season card in the East stand library and I am f**ing hoarse tonight despite the fact I am shafted with flu/cold you are spot on when you say we would be better off with a lower more pasionet support. There really are some total tossers come to the games now

Noble could have easily had three yellows and a straight red

It disappoints me fella. If anybody thinks I'm living in the past fair do's but I live in a world where the Roker Roar meant something and fact it's nonexistent by a ground three quarters full of the people who were responsible for the Roker Roar, I think it's so sad. Filtering out the sheepish who enjoy their seats far too much and recongregating the passionate would go a long long way. The away fans propped above a passionless stand isn't helping, put them back where they were and let the south stand bounce of them again at least.

Part of going to the game includes supporting your team not sitting like a tw*t eating "a prawn sandwich" - grips my sh*t it really does. Where I sit there tends to be a lot of the school seats and the f**king parents are something else they are the twistiest b**tards under the sun. Message to them : IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE THERE F**K OFF

genuine passion has been numbed by the way modern premier league football is. its the same for the many teams up and down the country. I find premier league football generally boring, have done for a canny few years now. If its on the box i often switch it off after 20 minutes. I sooner watch lower league football. Passion on the pitch which generates noise and passion in the crowd. Sometimes I wish I supported a team who would just tick along nicely in the lower leagues. I think I would enjoy it more. If I didnt support Sunderland I wouldnt give football the time of day though to be honest.

It's dissillousnment with football, with our club IMO. Whether you can still go to games with the same fervor or not, is not a clear measure of how much you care.

Results are ****house, in saying that I'd give my left nut to watch my Sunderland at the SOL. I'll be there one day, whether in the PL or Championship, doesn't matter <ok> I suppose I'm saying don't take things for granted, would love to be there every week!
