According to King Fut Elmo has withdrawn from the Egyptian team to play Botswana because of injury. I presume its the arm injury he suffered against CP. Anyone know the extent of the injury....break, sprain, or what?

Yes I saw that, but HDM don't mention anything this morning.

For Ahmed Elmohamady’s Egypt to stand any chance of featuring in the finals, beginning in January, the next week needs to be hugely productive. Defeats to Tunisia and Senegal in the opening two games makes the double-header home and away to Botswana crucial.

Maximum returns from the two fixtures on Friday and next Wednesday would see Egypt firmly back in the race but anything less would make qualification highly improbable when the process concludes next month.

Strange that the HDM didn't mention Elmo having withdrawn John. Robertson looks about 12 years old in that pic <laugh>

I would be surprised if his arm is injured. At worst I would think it was a bit stingy, no matter how dramatic his reaction.

Egypt are in a tough group and have dug a deep hole for themselves. There's a very good chance Elmo will be in the East Riding in January.
