Better than what we have, but wouldnt want him signed as our first team replacement, him and Best as backups and 2 new guys up front would be preferable.

Played well enough against us but haven't seen that much of him apart from that game and I was hoping for somebody a bit better.

I'd swap a Newt for Johan Salamander OT

Newts are easier to maintain and more economic. Great recession pets.

I don't see us signing many if any more out of contract players. Free transfer = higher wage demands.

I'm not so sure about that.

The club benefits as it doesn't have to fork out millions to buy, pays a smaller percentage of the buying cost as a 'signing on' reward and then pays the wages as per club ethos.

It doesn't mean they get higher wages as they have no binding contract with another club.

If the structure we have in place is correct, he'd be to old for us (29) plus he seems to blow hot and cold. He disappeared towards the end of the season.

Now sturridge I'd have him at the drop of a hat, right age and a class striker.

Cue hoards of newts in a marsh somewhere proclaiming they're as pissed as Jim Iley's bald head.

It shows, what a dreadfully average player he is. Him, moving to Galatasaray....no one really cared enough to take notice.

Thats why alot of people hadnt realised.
