Short says in the programme notes... It wasn't a kneejerk reaction to get rid of Bruce, his decision was based over a long period of time! So he was a BOB before quite a few on here.
Perhaps Bradshaw was right then, and MON was sounded out two months earlier. It must have been a pretty solid sounding out though for MON to kill the Leicester talks without any definite promises.
