Thoughts? Does anybody know the story behind stalled contract negotiations. Also, is it just me or does anyone else think he will get next to no play time. Sayign that, if Jenkinson is good enough for Arsenal...

*** The title of this thread should be Elliot to Newcastle (no ?)

Can only say all the best Robbie you were a great Servant to the club sadly only representing us 109 times (really thought Rob could go on and possibly challenge Sam Bartram's record yet I suppose that would only have happened had we moved up the League's quick enough).

Was a great privelge meeting him when he was in the stands during the away match at Southampton two years ago, a charming guy to speak to and managed to uphold the tradition of excellent Charlton Goalkeepers alongside Kiely / Bartram / Bolder etc...

Hopefully you can oust Tim Krul as soon as possible and get yourself into the England setup (especially if we're currently having to depend on Frank Fielding and David Stockdale who are at Derby and Ipswich respectively)

lol! Not at all Rifleman just name me another English Goalkeeper in the Premier League at the moment..

Joe Hart (who I am a big supporter of) Ben Foster / Scott Carson (Not interested / in Turkey) Paul Robinson (Retired) i.e. who else can you have sitting on the Bench if Joe Hart god forbid was sent off!!

Definitely not saying Rob Elliot should be England's hopes for Euro 2012 and beyond

Absolutely gutted, quite possibly the only player for the past few years (prior to this season) who actually cared about the club and always put in 100%. Good luck to him at Newcastle, I hope he becomes their number 1.

    P.S Pardew is a ****er
P.P.S I need to change my signature picture again (first Semedo, now Robbo, I may have to put Doherty on it in the hope that he now leaves).

As you say not too many, but Ben Foster on loan at WBA, David Stockdale, the Fulham keeper on loan at Ipswich at the moment, looks a reasonable prospect. But having said that, I don't believe Rob is Premier League class. Think he will be a bench warmer, but probably on three times the money he got at Charlton

gutted as well, one of the few players last season who I could connect with being a Charlton player

would love to get Newcastle at home in the FA Cup should we reach the 3rd round to give Pardew abuse, I just hope we got a decent fee for him

In all honesty he'll do very well to get a start in the league for us, Krul is in excellent form and younger. I feel bad for you guys if he was as good as suggested for you. Hope we get you in the cup and/or loan you some players or something.

I'll always remember after a desperately disappointing defeat at Bristol City, how he came the full length of the pitch to chat and commiserate with spectators and give his gloves to a little kid.

    Always had time for us.

Good luck, pleased you've got a good deal and I hope things work out. :emoticon-0150-hands

Its not necessarily his ability as a goalkeeper that will be missed, just the fact that he always had time for the fans (always signing autographs, chatting to fans, giving away his gloves) not to mention the fact that he himself is a Charlton fan. Anyways good luck for the season, as much as I detest Pardew I wish Robbo all the best <ok> How popular is Pardew with the fans by the way?

P.S Your signature is hilarious <laugh>

Pardew's getting more on side, we had a poll a little while ago and most people said 6 or 7 out of 10 for him. His biggest problem is that he was replacing an incredibly popular boss in Hughton, who didnt deserve to be sacked.

Good luck for the season lads <ok>
