I'm quite often a bit wary of players being brought in on loan, but Hewitt does look useful and probably will get several games. Young but already relatively experienced. Look forward to (probably) seeing him on Saturday.
After watching Charlie Allen at right back against Shrewsbury Town, I think we will breath a sigh of relief to have a right back starting in his natural position on the pitch Hopefully Hewitt can also play as a right winger because when Harriman.is back we will have two right backs for one right back slot
The thing that puzzles me is that Allen was asking for additional funds to get playes in but told he had to sell, but suddenly Taylor has money to dabble with...
It's only a 28 day loan move people! Likelihood is Ipswich are still paying the vast majority (if not all) of his wages.
Mousinho wouldn't be cheap and I doubt ***an is either. I'm with BSG, shows that MA was on his way long before he got the chop.
***an was out of work so probably was grateful for a short term deal to get him back in the shop window, Mousinho not playing is looking for fitness which does his parent club a favour, the young lad will be using it as part of his development and match fitness. I don't think any of this is costing much money.
That one can't really be "solved" as whoever plays in the replay must have been at the club for the first game. So it has to be someone already here. Either a player out of position or one of the youngsters.
Monday I would play 3 centre halfs Davies, Legge and Barrett and Wing Backs Martin & either Lee or Whelpdale
Which is of course a system PT used to play with us Southall and Patterson as wing backs although our midfield was mustard then. May be worth a go though in the FA CUP, see how it goes. Back to topic, Ipswich fans rate him highly & he does already have championship exeperience & was their first choice right back at the beginning of the season. Hope it works better then the Richardson & Williams signings from last season...what a waste of time that was
Young Hewitt is a very talented player who needs to get some game time but I find it a bit ironic that he is going to Gillingham after the silly comments made by your previous manager after a pre season friendly!
Just got home from the game. For me Hewitt did well today and particularly outstanding in the first half, covering the near post at corners. He must have stopped at least two goal bound opportunities for the Blades, one being a clearance off the line that looked a certain goal. My view on him was a bit restricted for the second half at the opposite end but from that first half alone, PT did good bringing him in and i never praise a player lightly.
