Interesting as a few of us have discussed whether this could happen. Will hopefully free up some wage budget. With this and rowlands going I would expect to see someone added to the squad probably on loan again. Tevez from city would be nice
he goes to swindon and leaves to southend permanently http://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10341~2560855,00.html http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~2561110,00.html
good news in my opinion. Nothing against Benyon - I was one of the ones who reckoned him on being a good signing in the summer. He's a decent player but it just hasnt worked out. In our position in the table (and our lack of finances), we simply cannot afford to carry a loanee who hasnt performed. Good luck to the lad...........but we need to get more in. In an ideal world, we could get Trotta on a season long loan and a centre defender and centre midfielder in too. Wishful thinking maybe.........itll be interesting to see what the Wadfather has up his sleeve. In Waddock We (Still) Trust........
Summed up well devonblue. I thought Benyon was a good signing but it hasn't worked and need to free up money for better players. We need to strengthen at the back and keep Rodney. We have a chance if we do that. How does it work with Donnelly? Has he gone back to Swansea or are we still paying for him?
As I said in a previous thread, I think there was a clause in Benyons contract to return him now or to extend the lone. Again no offense to the lad but I'm glad that clause was there. Sounds like it has worked out well for him if he has a pernament move to another club. lets hope Waddock can sign some players who will hit the ground running like the last 2 loan signings!
i second that it didnt work out for benyon but good luck to him in the future, lets get trotta for the rest of the season
I think luckily for us Swindon actually recalled him (per their website) as they were able to offload him to Southend so I don't know if we did have an option to return him to Swindon half way through! On the injury side not sure really, as players often go back to their parent club for treatment when on loan so not sure where we would stand. The fact that he will be working at the club shop today suggests he is still with us rather than Swansea at this time! I agree with the comments above about getting a centre back and a centre midfielder in on loan. Hopefully sure up the defence a bit and add a bit of quality in the centre of the park. I am guessing from what Waddock has said we will go back for Rowlands and I can't really see why QPR would turn that down as he wasn't even given a squad number at the start of the season.
