How are Labour doing after their first 12 months

  • Total voters
    23
It keeps trying to refer me to old data or data that's been removed, but got some rough stats, just can't vouch for how up todate this is without going through the previously attached articles...

The UK government primarily uses Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) to house asylum seekers and vulnerable individuals requiring temporary support. There are approximately \(6,000\) of these properties nationwide, accommodating around \(28,000\) asylum seekers. [1, 2]

Where are they located?
These dispersal properties are contracted through private providers (such as Serco, Clearsprings, and Mears) and are typically located in lower-cost housing areas across England and Wales. [1, 2, 3]
  • North West England: Contains the highest concentration, housing over \(16,000\) asylum seekers in dispersal accommodation. Localities such as Wigan, Manchester, Liverpool, and Blackpool handle heavy concentrations.
  • London: Contains the second largest share, with roughly \(17,000\) supported individuals housed in dispersed properties across various boroughs.
  • North East England: Also sees a high proportion of HMO allocations relative to its population (e.g., Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough). [1, 2, 3]
Historically, many of these government-contracted HMOs were exempt from standard HMO licensing for a two-year period to speed up processing times. However, local councils have increased enforcement and inspection rates regarding property conditions. With updated HMO licensing changes and new local authority powers now in effect, councils are using targeted enforcement to manage overcrowding and property standards. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Five arrests over local election fraud in Tameside, as per Greater Manchester police.

Conspiracy to defraud leading up to the local election. Concerns from people in St Peters ward.

4 men and 1 woman arrested ages 23 to 47.

We don't know what parties. Something about 'paper candidates.'

Maybe dirty tricks?

The Mill can reveal that five arrests have been made following our investigation into claims that fake independents were put forward by Tameside Labour in May’s local elections, in order to split opposition votes.

Four men and a woman aged between 23 and 47 were arrested this morning in the Ashton-under-Lyne area, as a result of what the police are calling ‘illegality and criminality’ in the run up to the St Peter’s ward election on May 7th. The arrests were made on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud, and police investigations are ongoing.

Our investigation heard that internal messages had been circulated in Labour WhatsApp groups leading to the election, discussing the tactic of planting stooge Independents in order to split the vote of opposition candidates who could benefit from defecting Labour supporters. The messages were allegedly instantly deleted by other group members, and instructions sent to not discuss the topic in that forum.

I hope when they get a good scoop or last thing on a Friday before heading to the pub they all start waving their arms about shouting “Miiiiiiilllllll”. I certainly would if I worked there anyway.

Yeah I did find it amusing, I'd never heard of them and had to check is was a bonafide source, apparently they are and do investigative journalism.

Streeting says he wants to change CGT to help "genuine entrepreneurs"

The obvious question is, who will decide what a genuine entrepreneur actually is? little comments like that in pledges usually mean it's a soundbite and nothing will be done.

all 3 lines are dotted because the final quarters figures hadn't been finalised and i'm just pointing out saying that the the chart said 800000 arrived isn't necessarily correct for that reason .
Though i'm regretting pointing this out

The random nobody who was selected to represent the Greens in the by-election has pulled out. A “children’s safeguarding specialist” by trade.

RD8D is such a boring twat that even a pedantic arsehole like Solid wants to roll himself into the Thames after a few short exchanges.
