He's grand thanks, Organic. I was in the beer garden with him on Sunday afternoon. The Cheese football team arrived and one of them had a Doberman puppy of the same age. He couldn't touch Kenny - ran him ragged. He can turn on a sixpence, just like his namesake used to. My mate's coming this evening with his Irish Wolfhound. He's the size of a ****ing small horse. It'll be fun to see what Kenny makes of him
It's going to be ****ing busy in there tonight, before the virtual lock-down starts at midnight. Won't be worth going in there
I'm guessing he was questioning the use of the word "virtual". Its meaning of "almost" has been virtually ousted by its computer jargon meaning.
To be fair as soon as I read virtual, I had images of people packed in, but with headsets on so to them it looked like they where by themselves.
Bit of both tbh. Knew there was talk of further lockdown restrictions in north west but didn't know it had already happened in places. Nor did I understand the virtual aspect for exactly the reason you suggested.... ... this is what I envisaged too
Got to the Cheese yesterday afternoon and Vic, the usual barmaid, wasn't there - again! She regularly doesn't turn in for extraneous reasons and she's hopeless when she does, anyway, but it's a standing joke. She's the one that works at the Halifax and almost shredded £2000 once by accident So I said "Where the **** is she this time?" to be told her husband has covid. He's the steward at the Conny Club, so that's been closed. Vic had just had her test and if she's positive, the Halifax in Warrington gets shut In other news, Kenny the Griffon enjoyed fetching his stick in there
Vicky tested positive and is pretty ill. She's also got COPD so not great. Got a text this morning from the landlord to say it's closed for the next two days. The heating's packed up and it's costing him money to open up during the week - not getting enough in. They don't allow dogs in the Grange either. ****ers.
Looks like full lockdown again next week. Depending how long it lasts, that might just finish the Cheese for good. ****s
I suspect it will be essential businesses, services and operations only from next week so supermarkets, shops (I imagine all retail will now be considered 'essential' as they won't shut the economy down like that again) and schools and colleges remain open, but hospitality, leisure and recreational places will be closed fully or made to shut even earlier than 10pm. I just hope they'll let gyms stay open as I've just signed up for a new one and was planning to get back into it
