what i "love" about that concept is the idea that all Governments in the world actually agreeing and acting in unison on any idea
I know -it's pathetic. And the idea that all the governments - with the cooperation of all the health authorities would willingly screw up the world's economy in order to kill off a few hundred thousand old people. Some people have a very tenuous grasp on reality.
It's real alright. I'm careful, saint. It's not an open house in here. Surprised you have mates with that view. Anyway, you get well very soon and **** them all. It's weird, but a month before this **** started, I said it would need an extinction level event to stop us winning the league.
One is a scouser who's let our innate mistrust of government run to the extreme level of claiming everything is a lie. The other is a Londoner who never met a conspiracy theory he didn't like. He makes David Icke seem almost human. They're both ok on any other level, but this outbreak just highlights how dangerous stupidity can be.
Had a worrying call with my youngest last week. Some of you may remember she works at a homeless hostel in mancland. Clearly, the lockdown is having an adverse impact on the residents. 70% are addicts of some description and a good proportion spend their daylight hours begging on the streets, but of course footfall is much lower, so they can't afford their normal 'supplies'. This is causing considerable unrest and some violence among the ranks. One of them was evicted a couple of weeks ago for threats against the staff, but has started breaking in. The security 'guards' are hopeless. Totally unqualified and untrained agency people, so not their fault. This guy is 29, full-on martial arts trained and has done time for both dealing and domestic violence. Up to last week, he'd been OK with may daughter, but after breaking in again, and attacking two members of staff with a fire extinguisher, he told her she was the same as all the rest and he knew where she lived. They've had plain clothes bizzies in, but each time they arrive, someone is texting the nutter telling him not to come in. There's been no sign since and my daughter has calmed down, but I'm still worried and feel so helpless given the prevailing circumstances. The guy needs clinical help, but this is 'care in the community' up close and personal
That is a worry. Plod need to stay outside and unseen until he turns up, then move on him - surely they can work that one out for themselves. Hope she's ok.
surprised the plod haven't lifted him as bet they know him pretty well so would have a fair chance of finding him & charging him for the assault.
Hopefully, it was an idle threat. Or the cops actually get off their arse and do something! Hope she stays safe mate
Cheers Greez. She was much more relaxed yesterday. She recently finished with her long-term boyfriend as well (the one she was with in Mexico and Guatemals), so gthat contributes to my worry. He's a good guy.
Spoke to an old mate a couple of days ago who's FD of the British Beer and Pub Association. They don't even know when pubs are reopening.
i could have told you that seriously they and clubs will be one if not the last things to fully reopen and the recent case in S Korea of having 19 new cases in one day 18 of which were traced to one fella on a weekend bender going to 5 bars & clubs ..
Yesterday I went through a bottle of champagne, a bottle of red wine, and a couple of beers. During a barbie so I did eat as well.
