It's been ****ing **** since we were acquired by the jocks. Obviously I had that bad flurry of results - the candidate diagnosed with cancer who was working his notice, the guy with the poor references who had been offered and the guy who was offered, but accepted the Astra Zeneca job. That was £35,000 down the pan. However, whereas in the past, that was accepted as a 'these things happen' kind of thing, it's total micro-management on a constant basis. None of us here respond positively to in-your-face pressure. It has an adverse, and not beneficial, effect. One of my colleagues already has a second interview with a scientific instrument manufacturer, the other doesn't know what to do, but I'm probably ****ed because of my age. Oh, and the Cheese is shutting. Apart from that, RTG
You're never ****ed... if someone wants a quick buck for 5 years mate. you've your long list of client companies to take with you.
New Subway (butties) advert - "Seize The Cheese!". The outgoing management unveiled their chariot last Sunday that they intend to tour round Europe in. A ****ing huge, old 4 berth Winnebago-type thing. They were showing people round it. One of the lads has a smaller version. He said the plywood was very damp in about 6 places and will rot away. No surprise really. They only paid 10 grand for it
Work gets worse. One of my colleagues has just resigned. Going back to instrumentation sales. At least she waited until I departed the office. Should be fun as the ****er MD is here overnight. Nice atmosphere in the morning.
Cheese closing on 28th August. Unknown if anyone will take it on, and if they do, when. They informed DJ Phill last night that the music licence has just run out, so there can't be any more Friday and Saturday discos. He's been doing it for 25 + years for free ale, so he was gutted. The guy who works behind the bar wants to take it on, but him and his mate have to raise funding, somehow. 10 K. In other news, my job is still ****ing ****. They really are ****ers. One of my mates put me in touch with his son's boss who has a recruitment company in Warrington and one of their specialisms is life science. I had a meeting with him and their ops director. Only set up 4 years ago and they have 25 consultants already! He explained they'd just taken 5 new ones on, so hadn't been planning to recruit just then (already mentioned when I spoke to him by phone). He said he just needed to bed them in and then he's be ready for me, probably start of September. It can't be any ****ing worse than what I'm dealing with now and is a ****ing site closer
It’ll probably be saved, as change of use will likely prove to be a real issue for any potential developers given the age and history of the old boozer.
